About this listen

London was all on edge and astir to have in its midst the exquisite Princess Felicity of Brasnia. What scandal would ensue should society discover that the bejeweled heir to a royal throne was in truth Miss Felicity Channing of Cornwall, fleeing a match she did not want and that had been arranged by her conniving stepfather!

It was questionable how long Felicity could carry off this lively masquerade before she would falter, especially since the dark, raffish eyes of Lord Arthur Bessamy seemed to look right through her disguise - and set her spirited heart to pounding.

delightful narrating

I love all of Marion Chesnerys books; now enhanced with Justine's de!lightful narration, I'm able to revisit all of her books as if for the first time.

Horrendous fake British accent ruins the story

Seriously?!? This narrator should not be allowed to work again. Or at least, have her lay off that fake accent so it's possible to enjoy the story.

Justine Eyre is a horrid narrator. Skip this one.

I could not listen to the slow drawling, heavy breath of this narrator. Her voice completely ruined this story for me.

Interesting and funny story. Speed up the narrator

The reader is breathy but does a good job overall. Listening at 1.25 helps tremendously. This is a funny story with quite Gothic themes. Really enjoyed it.

So so

Monotone narration. Not one of Beaton’s best. Felicity was a brainless petty character who had no humor nor insight. Sir Arthur was equally not a developed character and flat.

Hate the narrator

Hate the narrator. Lackluster and pretentious narration almost stopped listening within five minutes of starting

Never again

This book was only around four hours long and I had to suffer through it. It was completely unrealistic. I love MC Beaton but this book was so not my cup of tea. AND the narrator was terrible.
