About this listen

This true lost manuscript from the "grandfather of self-help", Napoleon Hill, provides timeless wisdom on how to attain a more successful and wealthy life using simple principles.

Napoleon Hill first wrote The Path to Personal Power in 1941, intending it as a handbook for people lifting themselves out of the Great Depression. But upon the bombing of Pearl Harbor and America's entrance into World War II, these lessons were put aside and largely forgotten - until today.

Discovered in the archives of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, this never-before-published work is made up of three easily digested lessons, each its own chapter: Definiteness of Purpose; the Master Mind; and Going the Extra Mile.

This concise audiobook is a powerful road map that leads to a single discovery - you already have the power to attain whatever wealth, success, and prosperity you desire in life. All you need to do is walk the path without straying, and the rest will follow.

Using these lessons, you have principles to live by that will help you stay on your own personal path to power and achieve success that you never thought possible.

I’d like to offer a two-part review of The Path to Personal Power.

First is the information from Napoleon Hill which has been compiled by those at the Napoleon Hill Foundation and organized into the book.

Napoleon Hill spend 20+ years organizing his notes from the primary conversations with Andrew Carnegie. (Carnegie was the richest man at the time and if his wealth was calculated at today’s value he would still be the richest person.)

This book contains, in an easy to follow format, the key points of Hill’s more extensive works; Laws of Success and the later published - and wildly successful - Think and Grow Rich.

The information is valuable and worth your investment in time.

The second part of the review is for the narration by Sean Pratt. Sean is one of the most prolific narrators, especially of nonfiction, approaching 1,000 audiobooks.

His style of narration brings the words to life by engaging the listener with entertaining reading. He does not drone on in nonexpressive monotone.

Because it’s nonfiction he isn’t over-the-top with character voices or accents. His offers a balance that brings the words to life without tipping into over doing it.

I highly recommend this audiobook.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, This book is the greatest penny stock that one could invest in, only realizing later that that penny stock was a great Microsoft that was just starting out.

This really is an eye opening book for development of self help and the motivation one needs.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All the Great Masters of Self Help

What about Sean Pratt’s performance did you like?

Sean Pratt's ability to sway the reader with his enthusiasm at parts that are important and moments where his enthusiasm is needed, makes the audiobook all the more enjoyable

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

THE GREATEST RICHES ARE NOT BEYOND YOUR REACH!

Any additional comments?

Napoleon Hill's content has always been an enjoyable reading for me.

Consider this book "The Hobbit" of the Lord of the Rings

in this case, the prelude to Laws of Success/Think and Grow Rich.

All Great Achievements, Begin With an Idea

Narration is perfect, but all this book really is-a bunch of remixed stuff out of other books. Also, it is repetitive. It's mostly a long drawn out interview with Andrew Carnegie. Personally, because I own Think and Grow Rich, this purchase was a dud for me. It's not a bad book by any means, but it rehashes what you've most likely heard elsewhere.

This is Think and Grow rich remixed.
