Publisher's summary

Morgan Stark is stranded in the Central American nation of Belize after a raid goes wrong. Felicity O'Brien is stranded in the jungle south of Mexico after doing a job for an American client. When these two meet, they learn that they have been double-crossed by the same person: Adrian Seagrave, a ruthless businessman maintaining his respectability by having others do his dirty work.

Morgan and Felicity become friends and partners while following their common enemy's trail. They become even closer when they find they share a peculiar psychic link, allowing them to sense danger approaching themselves or each other. But their extrasensory abilities and fighting skills are tested to their limits against Seagrave's soldiers-for-hire and Monk, his giant simian bodyguard.

After a series of battles from the California coast to the New York Public Library, they must face a final confrontation with Seagrave's army of hired killers in a skyscraper engulfed by flames.

Good story, so so narration

I liked the story, the character development was good and I thought everything tied in nicely. It had a little John Wick meets Jack Reacher thing going on.

For me the narration was wrong, I like to listen at night and the tone that it was read in put me to sleep a few times, it was just to softly read. Some of the situations the narration was good but most of the time it needed to be more up beat. I know that the narrators don't always get to pick the the way they read it.

I would listen to more but this author maybe with a different narrator.

a good read

This was a good read, I finished most of it in a day. I did feel like there wasn't much of a climax, just constant action from the beginning to end, which I know is the point of a thriller. I just would have liked more of a range in the levels of suspense. I was not thrilled with the narrator. he might have had a lot to do with my feeling of not having a climax because he did not reflect much emotion or difference in tone between characters.

Fun Adventure story

I liked the fun adventure story.
This is the start of the thriller series, I listened to a later story earlier and wanted to start in order.
the premise is fun, and the interactions are written well.

Exciting thriller

Morgan Stark and Felicity O'Brien team up in this very well-written, exciting novel. Austin Camacho did a great job with this book that takes place in Mexico, Belize, Los Angeles, and New York.
Felicity and Morgan are a great team and I hope there are quite a few more with both characters!
Excellent narrator!! Peter Andrews is a true voice acting professional.

Stark and O'Brien Inc.!

Morgan Stark is a former Special Forces soldier recreated as a military contractor, just as many soldiers chose to do after the Bush/Clinton armed forces draw down from 1990-2000. Felicity O'Brien is an accomplished jewel thief. The double-cross is on for both Morgan and Felicity. What’s interesting is that they are betrayed by the same man. Once introduced, they form a partnership to repay the man for his deception. This is the first volume of the Stark and O’Brien Adventure Series. The two MC characters are wonderful and the story is an exciting, non-stop action chase. The only thing I found odd was that the villain Adrian Seagrave, who is in the same contracting business, would risk a double-cross of two well-known contractors without insuring their death to keep the matter concealed. Pay back

I received a free code for this book.
This was really well narrated, would definately look for more stories read by Peter Andrews.
The story was enjoyable, nice mix of actions and deduction. The only thing I found rather unbeleivable was the "physic" powers of the two main characters. Felt like this was used a bit of a bridge where the author wasn't sure how to link the story lines. But this was a minor part, don't let it put you off the story.
