Jason King and Will Slater, the two most lethal operatives in government history, are out on their own.
They’ve been through their personal journeys into hell, but they unite in New York City as brothers in arms. So begins a vigilante crusade against the city’s morally bankrupt inhabitants.
But their private war doesn’t last long. Sometimes you can’t escape the past, no matter how hard you try. They’re revisited by old government contacts with an agenda, and soon enough they’re fighting tooth and nail to prevent the destabilization of the entire country. Outnumbered, overwhelmed, beat down, battered, broken - it's just another day at the office.

Gripping storyline and a talented narrator

Kevin Kenerly only got four stars. I know pronunciation is often a regional or national in its sound. What really bothered me was this narrator used a hard G sound on all words ending in G. To wit the word "young" ending with the hard g sound.
To me very disconcerting.
Really dark black ops.

King, Slater, et al, are amazing Super Operators, capable of the Battling and Beating the Bad Guys. K&S then Recover from Injuries, Get Stronger, then Deal With the Next "Closest Alligator". They embody the Best Traits, and maybe a few weak ones, of Captain America, the Amazing Hulk, Nick Fury and Mitch Rapp!
Respectfully, IMHO many (most?) in your "audience" are Veterans (America's REAL Heroes). But, few were/are "Top Tier" Operators. We live vicariously through your stories and think "Maybe, I could ...".
Respectfully, We, the audience" need an "Early Slap, Back into Reality". An EARLY disclaimer reminding us, mere mortals, about the REAL dangers posed by near- and long-term "closed head trauma". Avoid and prevent all head trauma. If experienced, take prompt action, seeking Medical Evaluation and Care immediately.
The "Basis" for my input and concern is two-fold. 1) First, CURRENT Medical Database Documents "Serious Short- snd Long-term Effects of Concussions, Closed Head Trauma (CHT), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), etc. 2) Second, to a lesser degree, personal experience following my Navy career (30+ years ago) plus the health of Brothers, living and passed.
Thank you for your consideration. Please forgive my grammar and spelling issues.

The narrator used two main voices for males, and one for females in the book. The problem is that his male characters either sounded like they were trying to do a wise-guy impersonation or a or a hardened thug impersonation FOR EVERY OCCASION. It didn't matter what the situation was or how the conversation was going, and it didn't stay consistent with the character. That kept taking me out of the story and trying to figure out who was supposed to be talking.
The story itself has potential to be interesting, but there are a lot of small story holes that add up. Things like saying the two main characters are extremely tight with each other but then having one not know if the other drinks. It's not a major plot hole, but there's a lot of smaller ones like that and they add up to be distracting.
Good potential, but a little lacking
