From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Shanora Williams comes a tale of revenge served ice cold - and a warning to be careful what you scheme for....

A brutal tragedy ended Ivy Hill’s happy family and childhood. Now in her 20s and severely troubled, she barely has a life - or much to live for. Until the day she discovers the name of the woman who destroyed her world: Lola Maxwell - the mega-wealthy socialite with a heart, Miami’s beloved “first lady” of charity. Accomplished, gorgeous, and oh-so-caring, Lola has the best of everything - and doesn’t deserve any of it. So it’s only right that Ivy take it all away....

Little by little, Ivy infiltrates Lola’s elite circle, becomes her new best friend - and plays Lola’s envious acquaintances and hangers-on against her. But seducing Lola’s handsome, devoted surgeon husband turns into a passionate dream Ivy suddenly can’t control. And soon, an insidious someone will twist Ivy’s revenge into a nightmare of deception, secrets, and betrayal that Ivy may not wake up from....

Predictable and terrible ending

Not very “thrilling” or surprising. The end was a disappointment and left the reader frustrated

why the ending?

It took a while to get into the story. I liked the plot but it dragged in some parts for me. I also wasn't expecting the ending and was disappointed.

The Last Third Brought Me Back!

Just when I was getting sick of the protagonists naivety and obsession the writer brought in a new take and more background. As much as this character drove me nuts. I was really invested in the story and what nonsense she would do next! I would recommend if you like mysteries and thrillers and are also looking for a story with more diverse characters.

Very good

This was the first book I read by this author, and I definitely will be coming back for more. The twist and turns were very good. I love the Lifetime feel of the story..

Such a fabulous job by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shanora Williams. This was my first book my Williams and it was so well done. Perfectly executed! I listened to this as an audiobook and really have to give the narrators a round of applause they also did amazing jobs. Chante Ellison & Nola Vance great job the both of you.

This story carries a lot of anger and that is why I chose the angry face emoji for my rating for this book. We know I always try to find the perfect emoji to fit the book I review and I felt this was perfect. The anger that all the characters felt was crazy. Ivy against Lola & Georgia and then Georgia against Lola. It was so hostile.

I could not believe the ending and was in complete shock! It was so well planned and well executed. Georgia wanted so long for her time to come that took some guts and lots of patience. You all need to read this amazing revengeful book right now! Go out and get it! Now I'll leave you with this awesome quote from the book.

"You are just a woman. A woman with hate in her heart and darkness in her soul. You hate yourself, so you take it out on everyone else. You are scorned. Broken. Pathetic. You will suffer at my hands. I will ruin you…and you won't even see me coming. " — Shanora Williams, 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑹𝒖𝒊𝒏
