About this listen

Several surprises are waiting for Kyllan’s return. Trysuil, a Tantalarian he thought dead, is most definitely not lost to their people. The Phoenixes kept Trysuil in a state of suspended animation, until the time was right for him to rejoin his people in the future. In his position of power, he is known as the Adjudicator and answers to the Phoenixes. He serves as their judge and jury on Tantalus.

Those who know Kyllan respect and admire him as a good leader of uncanny foresight and abilities. As they get to know Trysuil, they also find he is a man of vision, who is just and fair in his decisions. He does not abuse his position, and he helps the newcomers in any way he can. They also learn he can bring down the might of the Phoenixes to bear upon them, if there is a need.

Trysuil was a good choice

The Tantalus series gets even better with this new instalment that includes a huge twist in the usual M. A. Abraham style. The saga continues, where we find that all three species can work together if they are willing. Loved that Alena gets her mate back, that a wrong has been righted, Trysuil is the voice of the Phoenixes, The Adjudicator. So much going on and so much more to come. Looking forward to the next one.
A 5-star story that a sci-fi/fantasy fan can sink into with relish. It can be read as a standalone, but I would advise to start at the beginning to understand the world better.
It was a 5-star when I read it but listening to Mr. Callanan telling the story brought a whole new level of enjoyment. He has the perfect voice for the series, varied to match the personality, mood of the characters and he is consistent across the books in the series. I hope he will continue to do the rest of the them.

What is going to happen next?

This series keeps getting more and more intense. There were so many things going on in this book that I have no idea where to start. Trysuil is back and he has some changes that are going to happen. This was a great book but what the humans have planned is going to make what happened on Mars look like patty cake. I am looking forward to figuring out what the mother-ship can do. We heave learned about The Phoenixes and the Tantalus but that is about it. I need to know more about the ship and created it and what the ultimate goal of the ship was.

great addition to the series

I must agree with the other reviewers, the more this series progresses, the more I find I like it. The interplay between the races is very interesting. I thought the author did a great job of moving the overall story arc forward. There is a good balance of action, drama and even a little humor. Brian Callanan did a fantastic job on the narration. I think this book could stand alone, but you'll get a lot more out of the series if you start at the beginning. I wasn't as enamoured with the first book, but after that, the series really takes off. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

The story keeps evolving but does not loose anythi

This is the sixth book I’ve read/listened to by this author and they have all been in this series. I’m thoroughly enjoying it!!

The Tantalarians have left Mars and are returning with some of the Siren Royal Family and all the humans. The Tantalarins are expecting there to be an adjustment period when they arrive on Tantalus, but even they did not anticipate Trysuil returning. He steps into a leadership role, as well take the position of Adjudicator, and he and the Phoenixes won’t put up with malcontents or outright trouble-makers.

This is the ninth book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Brian Callanan ) and there is now no other narrator that could do these books. He is the characters. His diverse character voices bring the stories to life. (He does female voices very well).

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.

What an awesome book! The more I read the more I want!

M. A. Abraham has a very unique and fascinating way to tell a story. I just can’t get enough of this author books. I highly recommend these books and if you’re going to read them, start from the beginning.
The narrator has a wonderful way of telling the story by projecting the mood of the characters.
Both the author and the narrator make you feel as though you’re in the book living through the trials of daily life with these people.

ANother great book by M.A.

M.A. doesn't fail to enthrall and enthuse a reader in her works. ANd Phoenix Choice along with the other books in this series show that. Kyllan comes home to Tantalus with Sirens to show them a better life. Trysuil is a diplomat of sorts and is the go between between his people and the Phoenix's. Once again you see completely different species interacting and helping each other. And we hear Brian Callanan bring these wonderful characters to life. This is a great series and has a great narrator for them
