About this listen

Years have passed since the last of the Dark Gods was defeated, and Lothion has entered an age of peace and prosperity. Mordecai’s oldest children have already begun to make a place for themselves, and his youngest are on the cusp of adulthood. By every outward measure, his life has been a success; he has earned his reward.

However, Tyrion, the first wizard and brutal liberator of mankind, has returned with an agenda of his own, and dark things continue to stir at the edges of civilization, threatening to undo Mordecai’s accomplishments.

He must meet the expectations of his queen, his family, and his people, all while finding a way to protect them from the ancient enemy of the She’Har, but his greatest challenge may be dealing with the lingering darkness that is growing within his own heart.

If an ANGEL made a baby with a SIREN...

If an ANGEL made a baby with a SIREN... it would sound like Alex Wyndham. With over 300 books in my audible collection, Michael G has created my favorites. This book is at the top and I even cried a little. I wish that Alex Wyndham could read the Mageborn series over and my world would be complete. I couldn't listen to the books read by Todd McLaren. I just couldn't take his voice seriously, so I read those myself. Bravo Michael G!! Keep em' coming baby!

The narration is a little sad

I liked Todd McLaren's narration for mageborn much better. The story here is pretty good though

Holy smokes. Alex Wyndham and Michael G Manning.

I haven't been this excited about a new series on audible for a while. And thank the gods it delivers and then some. Some of the best narration and fantasy writing on audible. Period.

Very creative

It mustn’t be easy to devise new adventures for heroes we have followed over decades.
Michael G. Manning manages to wet our appetite and quench our thirst along the whole book…
Granted, some of the jokes are moronic and moribond sometimes, and the slant humor now and then is refreshing…
The emotions are sometimes overwhelming

LOVE IT!

After Embers Of Illeniel, this brings it all back! So much time passed between Embers and Rien, would have liked to have read of that time.

Thoroughly Entertaining

As I listened, can't help comparing to Spellmonger Series but more exciting than the first book.

I don't know if I should have read a series before

Like I said before, it feels like I've missed a prior series. The book itself is good though.
