Not just WHY but HOW to create good habits.

Precise, specific, encouraging! Efficient in what is shared in the amount of time. Doesn't repeat himself, but doesn't quickly graze over any information. Shared personal examples, which I appreciated because I felt connected to author sharing a commonality therefore taking his counsel more seriously. However, personal experiences were kept to a minimum which allowed the information to focus on the reader's/listener's perspective. I prefer books read by author but this guy used voice inflection in the right places. I will be looking into Benjamin Chapin's other titles. Very grateful for this book!

Great ideas in this book!

Where does The Power of Habit rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I am unable to "rank" this book among all audiobooks I have listened to because this is the very first of its kind that I've listened to. A DIY book, full of very strong ideas on developing good habits and getting rid of those that are of no use.

What other book might you compare The Power of Habit to and why?

I am unable to compare this with any other book, as this is the first of its kind I have listened to.

Have you listened to any of Jay Prichard’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first Jay Prichard performance I have listened to but I appreciated several aspects he presents, e.g., no heavy accent, very easily understood, he would display a reasonable level of excitement in certain areas without going over the top and sounding like an infomercial.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Power of Habit?

I am working on the presentation given on finding more time in my day by rising earlier each day, cutting out some of my Facebook time and email time.

The Power of Habit

"The Power of Habit" is a powerful tool in implementing good habits in one's life. In the long run the good habits will push out the bad ones. It's all about time management. You have to learn where you can adjust time spent in different areas of your day and night. As the author states, it takes 30 days to create or break a habit. Sleep, regular exercise, and eating habits are the building blocks to begin a healthier lifestyle.

Benjamin Chapin discusses our choices and decisions regarding family, spouse, work, and financial habits. Quality time spent with one's spouse is essential for a good relationship as well as family time with children. He gives great advice, examples, and suggestions in all these areas.

We are creatures of habit and throughout our lives our habits will fluctuate but having the skills to readjust one's habits is key. I really like the idea of batching. Overall, you can't go wrong with this audiobook. It's essential to life to keep up good habits and adjust when necessary for a healthy AND happy life.

Jay Prichard delivers this information in a clear and precise manner. He keeps the book fluid and where there are questions, he allows a moment to reflect. He speaks in an upbeat way that makes you not only want to make these changes but at least for me, I have already begun making them.

Clean, clear, helpful

As the teaching maxim says, "Tell them what you're going to tell them, tell them, and then tell them what you told them. " Benjamin does this well. A good mix of specific steps and making the readers think for themselves. Also well narrated, easy to listen to and understand.

Unappealing

What was most disappointing about Benjamin Chapin’s story?

In a world where time is limited and we are facing information-overload, Mr Chapin presents us with a waffling discourse on the Power of Habits. His suggestions are trite and seem like a mash-up of better books.

Nothing new

This was just a personal diatribe that gave me no new information. Didn't do it for me, found it to be somewhat condescending.
