Publisher's summary

In November 1941, Lt Ralph Trewin, DSC arrives at Singapore as second-in-command of HMS Porcupine. To the shell-shocked Trewin, the gun boat and her five elderly consorts symbolise the ignorance and blind optimism he finds in Singapore.

Interesting novel about the capture of Singapore

Naval operations in Malaysia prior to the capture of Singapore. Somewhat sentimental novel of British Navy gun boat operations.

Enjoyable to listen to about Navy Decisions

Loved it, Makes you think about Higher Ranking Officers doing the correct decisions on being in Charge

Not for me...

Liked Unbroken quite a lot. This one I thought was similar, but it wasn't. Narrator did a fine job though...
