About this listen

There's no rest for the wicked...

When the beautiful and deadly Nacht Sirene comes calling, Capricious Whim's night to party with the villains of Imperial City turns into nothing but trouble. The pair are hunted by vicious and implacable foes from two dimensions. With Regulus missing, Sirene's loss of her powers, and Caprice's struggle with problems within her mind compounded with hasty decisions, the combination makes for a rough night which doesn't end. When you're a villain, having a bad night could mean a stint in jail...or worse.

This novel is for mature listeners only and contains explicit descriptions of violence and sexual situations. It is dark fantasy/science fiction centering on a villain as the protagonist and is not for the faint of heart!

Great story. Loved the characters. Just brilliant. A favorite series of mine.

The narrator was perfect for this. Excellent performance. Very enjoyable.

Poor Caprice and all the things that go wrong for her in just one night. I loved getting to here more about Rebecca (good bad guy) an her can do attitude. The changes and personality development with Caprice is really interesting and I can't wait to see where Alana goes with this and what is going to happen with her. I'm really loving how well Rebecca (narrator) plays off the snarky attitude and gives such an awesome edge to the story. With everything going on and all the excitement this is a really great listen. I can't wait to listen to book 4 when it becomes available on audio.

So Much Action!!!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This is the third in the Villainess series and the author/narrator combo is still going strong. This one pretty much picks up where book 2, Prince of Cups, ends. I noticed on Audible that there is a book 4 coming soon. As of this post, it doesn't show a release date, or even cover art yet. Fingers crossed it isn't a long wait, I'm looking forward to continuing the story.

Another good entry to this macabre series

As with the previous two books, this one is once again filled with dark depravity and erotica. Capricious' story is great and she's a fun character but the content was still lacking in deep storylines. I would recommend this to all dark fantasy readers.

Dark and depraved

Would you try another book from Alana Melos and/or Rebecca Wolfe?

I had received the first three books of Alana Melos' Villainess series together. After listening to all 3, I must say I was disappointed; mostly because of having wrong expectations from mis-classification of the books as "fantasy" and "Sci-fi". Though the books have those elements, it has sex a lot more. All three books are really Erotica books, set in fantasy world. And I don't really like Erotica books. And I also think that a promising plot (Villain's PoV) got wasted on this. Thus, I might not be interested in other works from the same author.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I will now search for other books written from the antagonist's perspective, by other authors. It has lots of promise, which a good author can capitalize on.

Any additional comments?
