About this listen

If you like Bernard Cornwell, David Gemmell, John Gwynne, and Conn Iggulden, you will love this Viking adventure packed with battles, betrayal, axes, and swords.

879 AD, Norway. Halvdan, son of Ragnar Lothbrok and King of Dublin, is locked in a savage war with Irish Dubgaill warriors in a battle for supremacy of Ireland’s coastal strongholds.

Hundr, a Northman with a dog's name…Viking warships flying the raven banner…and the echo of Ivar the Boneless.

Hundr and Einar the Brawler are drawn into a search for the son of Bjorn Ironside, lost during the war for Ireland’s future. Old enemies seething with vengeful fury emerge to throw Hundr and Einar into the most dangerous fight of their lives.

Hundr must join the war between the Finngaill and the Dubgaill and decide the fate of Dublin. Can he survive brutal betrayal and vicious shield wall battles in this fast paced Viking adventure with striking characters and bloodthirsty action?

The Raven and the Nine continues the unmissable Viking historical fiction saga series, which began with award-winning author Peter Gibbons' debut novel Viking Blood and Blade.

Great story, awful reader

Please go back to the original narrator from the first four books! The reader in this one constantly mis pronounces names and words.

narrator

The narration is dry. Words are mispronounced. Like the continuation of this series and story.

Like Saxon tails I am vested in characters.

This is a good fun listen. No high art here just characters that I am vested in the their tail. And it is well done and thankful Gibbons developed stories.

Characters

Loved how each of the characters are so developed and have grown over the years and all the books

Narrator sucks.

Why would you replace your narrator? He did great the first four books and it has been downhill since. The new guy completely brutalizes the names we had come to know. How do you change the pronunciation of main character names five books in? I will probably not buy any future books in this series. From amazing story to not so good a story with terrible delivery.
