About this listen

Can a reality TV marriage have a happily ever after?

Tyler and Laney met under unusual circumstances on a reality dating show, but their love was true. Now, that the fame is gone and it's after their celebrity wedding, will their love stay strong?

This short story follows The Cowboy's Reality Bride. While it can be listened to stand alone, the characters will be more dear to your heart if you listen to how they met first.

Sweet follow-up

This short story follows Tyler and Laney's story from The Cowboy's Reality Bride. We find Laney at her graduation so she can be a teacher, and then she has complications that keep her on bed rest for the last month of her pregnancy. Through it all Laney and Tyler are the same sweet, god-fearing couple we got to know before. It was sweet to see a couple talking about prayer and being thankful for God's work in their lives. It was written with sincerity that sometimes feels missing to me in other stories.

One of the product notes says it could be listened to alone. I guess you could, but I wouldn't recommend it. Go back and read or listen to the first novella. It will help you enjoy the characters more.

Recommended after 'The Cowboy's Reality Bride'

A terrific story and fitting epilogue for 'The Cowboy's Reality Bride'. I loved how Ms. Hoopes woven the christian belief into the story naturally and seamlessly. It is very realistic. She also did great job narrating.

I recieved a free Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.

Like hearing a friend's life-changing experience

This is effectively an extended epilogue taking place approx. 2 years after the "The Cowboy's Reality Bride", while it can standalone, it will be better if you know the characters from reading the previous story.

I loved seeing Laney & Tyler's journey to parenthood.

And I really empathized with Laney as my 1st pregnancy had some complications, and ended with an emergency cesarean (& ended up having to deliver my next 4 by cesarean, too - I told them that should answer if they ever doubt my love for them, lol).

It's scary times like that which remind us how much we depend on God, & my spiritual journey was similar to Laney's as well so I really identified with her experiences.

The only thing I would change is I would have liked a little more of their family's HEA after the delivery. After so much serious, I think it would have been more savory with a warmer, more lighthearted ending.

[The author's audio narration of the story is well done. She has a pleasant voice, does a good job with delineating different character voices for the listener to distinguish & maintains a natural conversational tone & flow to the reading pace.]

Great Read

The Reality Bride’s Baby: The Blushing Brides Series was a great read by Lorana Hoopes. Tyler and Laney met each other on a reality dating show. They had their celebrity wedding and never know what else could be in store for them. This was a great follow up story to The Cowboy's Reality Bride. I can't wait to read more by Lorana Hoopes.

Enjoyed!

Loved getting a glimpse of Laney's pregnancy. Love that Lorana Hoopes is the narrator of her own books.

A great lunchtime read!

I love the short reads for when I am in between books and have to fill a short amount of time the perfect. Although I think this one would’ve been better had I read book one of the blushing bride Siri‘s it was still pretty good there wasn’t anything that I didn’t conclude on my own from the story it’s just that I like knowing the backstory as well. This is a really good book that was very cute and very sweet it was pretty awesome!

Baby time

So I love that we get to see more of Laney and Tyler. I enjoyed their love story. But with that said this book is confusing to me as an ex labor and delivery nurse. It makes no sense to me that they would do an ultrasound to check the position of the baby if the heart rate had dropped and wasn’t going back up. I suppose if the heart rate wasn’t at dangerous levels but if it was at a dangerous level they wouldn’t stop to do it because the baby would need to be deliveries right away. They wouldn’t even attempt a vaginal delivery. And then to allow them time to pray when the heart rate had been down for 8 minutes also seems crazy unless the heart rate was at a safe level. They would be putting her in a knee chest position or at least on her side with oxygen and rushing her to the OR. And if it the heart rate was low enough the would do a general instead of a spinal. So my assumption is that the heart rate was concerning but was ok. Because if it was emergent surgery the husband also wouldn’t have gone in. And regardless of emergent or not most places make the dad leave the OR when the baby is taken out.
The other thing that gets me is on one side Laney says God is in control so no reason to be all alarmed and then we have her so worried she can’t concentrate on anything else.
Besides those two things it was a fun, clean, short story.
