About this listen

A little more than a year after the Fixer killings, Detective Mort Grant of the Seattle PD once again has his hands full. In the last four months, seven men have been murdered in seedy pay-by-the-hour motels: first strangled, then tied with rope and set on a bed of crushed mothballs, with a red lipstick kiss planted on their foreheads. Speculation abounds that the killer is a prostitute who's turning her tricks into dead men. The press has taken to calling her Trixie.

As Mort follows scant leads in the case, he can't help but feel continued guilt over his involvement with the Fixer. Though the public holds her up as a folk hero, a vigilante who seeks justice when the system fails, Mort cannot shake the fact that serious crimes have been committed. And though legend says she has vanished, Mort knows exactly where the Fixer is - and he's conspiring to keep her hidden.

As Trixie strikes again, Mort suddenly finds himself and his family in the crosshairs. Because these new murders are not random, and their perpetrator is hell-bent on luring Mort into a sick and twisted game. If he's not careful, he's going to need Fixing.

I really like the Fixer series and the concept in general. Book #2 however, is primarily focused on the Seattle PD. There are 2 main police dept plot lines that have nothing to do with the Fixer. The Fixer gets a couple of "cameo" story lines. Just not as exciting as it should have been. Overall a solid 4 star. I'm off to book #3.

More about the Police Than the Fixer

Can't wait for the next one. The Fixer and Detective Grant make a great team. This book once down loaded made me get excited and anxious to listen to. while even working. And I loved the narrator.

Awesome Book!

I listened to the first 2 books of the series and I can’t wait to listen to the next one. I enjoy how the main characters connect to each book. But don’t be fooled each book has its own story and the author does an amazing job linking them together. I’m looking forward to the next 4 books…

Great Suspense

To the detriment of the story, the narrator is woefully inept at especially male character narration, and even manages to characterize some of the women. Think of Yosemite Sam and you're close to all but the main character's voice.

While I like the author and the continuation of this story, the narration trivializes it.

Cartoon character narration, but good story

I’ve found it’s often difficult to find both a good story that also has a wonderful narration...until now! This is my 2nd book in the Fixer series and I can’t wait to get started on my third!
T.E.Woods is a wonderful author, IMO, because I feel like I’ve been on an adventure...complete beginning, middle and end...NO LOOSE ENDS! The Fixer books, although I’ve only read 2, seem to be the type of series books where the reader can read in order, but it doesn’t seem to be an absolute necessity! That’s great for readers who just want to pick out a good book and read, without worries of not having been introduced to characters in earlier books. It does build / add to previous books, but we know who they are and I love that! I’m a read it in order kind of gal, but I often go back and reread my individual favorites.
Christina Delaine is a fabulous narrator! I find books based on her narration! She is my favorite so far!
I highly recommend TE Woods as an author; Christina Delaine as a narrator; and this series by TE Woods: “The Fixer Series”!
God Bless & Happy Reading (or listening)!

T. E. Woods did it again! I must say that I was doubtful it could be done again. Lydia s a fixer is a riveting character. But we know from book one we know she used her get out of jail free card and her and Mort have a special relationship.

So were we going to get a book in which we do not get to experience the justified killing of the fixer. Yes, I am a fan of the killing she did to correct a faulty justice system.
Woods gave us 2 exciting protagonists Lydia and Mort. In this book, Mort’s new case is the main mystery of the book. Mort and his entourage are interesting enough that keeps you interesting. The only ones that I missed are his granddaughters.

Mort is again investigating another female serial murder, and copycat murder. Lydia befriends a motherless child whose father is willing to sell the little girl for child porn and finally into sexual slavery. This is a case that is written for the Fixer.

Does the Fixer, fix this in her usual manner and risk her freedom and her relationship with Mort? If you are familiar with mysteries, you know there be a place where our protagonists’ stories overlap. A few of the reviewers are not as pleased with this story. Do not let that stop you from reading this.

The suspenseful manner in, which the author can keep the fixer qualities in the book with Lydia’s (the Fixer) story being secondary is a quality of a great story teller.

This continues the well written series. Details are great a reader is captivated by the intrigue and story line. Looking forward to the next of the series. Since I live in seattle I love the local references.
