Publisher's summary

A secret multi-government conspiracy to cull the population of the world. An ancient deity forced to do their bidding and manipulate a virus, but he has other plans. Unbeknownst to all involved, the Reset is put into motion.

Meg, a cantankerous witch that has a strong dislike for most of humanity, has been haunted for the last few weeks by a ghost that keeps repeating the same ominous message.

"Prepare...the Reset is coming..."

All is eerily quiet in Portland, but the witch is stunned to discover that people all around her are killing themselves. What's worse, each person dies with a blissful smile. As events unfold before her unbelieving eyes, clusters of the population have went feral, killing indiscriminately and doing many unspeakable acts of cruelty to their victims.

Meg is forced to flee her home and attempts to find safe refuge from the carnage, but is now caught in the middle of a war. A war between good and evil as the veil of this world crumbles away and rifts into other dimensions appear, spilling forth many creatures that seek to take over the world and create chaos and destruction.

Will Meg survive, or will she become another casualty of the apocalyptic event known as the Reset?

More than just a witch against the world

Trigger warnings for sexual assault and a Sapphic love scene. This book was good and there was a lot of world building and action. Overall, I really liked the story. I didn't like how the author kept referring to Meg as "the witch" constantly. At some points, I got confused as to who was being referred to. Spoiler Alert: The author brought in shifters, vampires, and other supernatural creatures as well as the concept of fated mates. I felt that the main character was instantly OK with so many things she shouldn't have been. She didn't know any of this supernatural world existed yet she was fine after she found out. Meg's sexuality was never brough up but in the beginning she had a friends with benefits relationship with a man, then suddenly she was told her fated mate is a woman and she's fine and they have sex. In 2 weeks, she went from zero to deadly proficient with her witchcraft and powers.

The Culling of Humanity

A secret multi government with the help of a witch and demon want to cull humanity and it is up to a small but strong group of paranormal's to stop them. Meg discovers that the people in her neighborhood are in a killing frenzy like something out of the movie "Dawn of the Dead" except these people are very much alive feasting on human flesh. Meg barely escaped with the aid of Mia and her pack and together they take on people affected by the reset not to mention demons. This book is filled with action, shifters, demons, gore and of course sarcastic wit. The banter between some of the characters is absolutely hilarious even during this tense situation.

If you love paranormal/horror books I highly recommend this book to you. The narrator Joel Gibbs was phenomenal with voices that brought the story to life and made it leap of the pages. I can't wait to read the next book because I am hooked.

I received this book for free upon my request and my honest unbiased review has no bearing on this. I give this review voluntarily of my own volition.

Interesting concept

I really liked Victor the vampire. His sassiness was funny. The witch over the shoulder scene had me giggling. The story was interesting and mostly entertaining; there was some down time in the action. The narrator did a nice job. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Interesting concept

This book was ok but there was one point I thought I was listening to a different book. The beginning doesn’t go with the middle and the end is something else entirely. The concept was interesting just would’ve liked it to be a little more cohesive. I received a free copy and left my honest review
