About this listen

In 1964, Little Big Man gave us the reminiscences of Jack Crabb - a white orphan raised among the Cheyenne - who returns to "civilized" society, where (among other things) he tangles with Wyatt Earp and Wild Bill Hickok, and ends up as the only white survivor of Custer's Last Stand. At the end of Little Big Man, Jack's supposed death at age 111 cut short his tale. A newly discovered manuscript, however, reveals that Jack had faked his death to get out of his publishing contract, and he now picks up the story of his extraordinarily action-packed life.

Great performance.

Not as good as Little Big Man. Less about Jack and more about him popping up all over the West.

Wonderful!

as with the original, I loved every minute of this book. it might be slightly less than the first one, but the first one was so off the charts that this one is still amazing.

Inspiring, period.

I've loved this story my whole life. The narrator IS Jack Crabb. I'm sorry the journey is over.....until next time!

Wonderful

Scott Sowers iis excellent. He takes a very good story and makes it better. He was able to capture the essence of the characters in there different voices.I would recommend the story is that he narrates just because he is the narrator. I enjoyed little big man in the return of a little big man immensely. Thomas Berger is an excellent storyteller! Scott Sowers Is unsurpassed. Highly recommended!

Jack Crabb rides again

Having read the first book of this set ( Little Big Man), I was glad to see part 2. I think you could listen to this without listening to the other , but why miss out on the fun ?
I think this would be especially good for those that like Westerns or learning a bit about some of the famous people from those days. This being fictional, I'm not sure how closely it would follow the facts, but it's a rip-roaring good read, all the same.
I tend to like books with old curmudgeons in them so this does not disappoint. Jack Crabb had a story to tell and he didnt complete it in book one.
A bonus to this is the narrator, Scott Sowers. Perfect voice for this crotchety old cowboy.

As Fascinating and Entertaining as the First

Wonderfully entertaining sequin to Little Big Man! Admitting, I was skeptical that it could have been pulled off considering how much I enjoyed the first account of Jack Crab, but the follow up account was as close to greatness as the first.

LOVED IT!!

Berger brings the old west to life in a book both hilarious and educational. It's a gargantuan tall tale told by the quaintly charming protagonist that's never the less full of obscure facts and information about the old west and its denizens . This book is a treasure!
