About this listen

Cast out by his own family after a wolf’s bite infects him, a young 13-year-old boy is forced to roam the streets and fend for himself. In a world of humans and others, he belongs to neither. No longer considered human, but nor a purebred other, a race of powerful supernatural beings, he will be unwanted and hunted by both.

Danger lurks at every turn. Young, vulnerable, and afraid, he tries to come to terms with the physical changes taking place in him while at the same time trying to find a way to survive. In a menacing world filled with threats and hate, is there any hope of salvation for this orphaned fledgling?

Please note: this is a Society short.

This story started out Soooo Sad and then continued in a long walking trip for a 13 yr old boy who is confused and rejected by his father. This is a short story and looks to be the beginning of a real good Series. Narrator does a nice job with a thickish English? accent.

I received a copy of “The rise of the Phoenix” (A Society Series Companion Story book 0) by Mason Sabre in exchange for my honest review and here it is. The rise of the Phoenix is a prequel to the society series. It gives you an insight as to how he is who he is. At the same time, you get hook in the story wanting to know what happens next. It is a quick read with great information that sets up the story. I recommend reading it before starting the series, even if you can read them stand alone in what ever order you like. I like to read them in order, to fallow the story of each character and know what their talking about that something was mention in other books.

I listened to this book with great excitement. I had read the story several times and had a voice I my head. Gary Murrell is the perfect voice for the story of a young boy who becomes an outcast from Society when he is bitten by a wolf shifter. Mason Sabre's writing comes to life as you listen to this audiobook.

This story is amazing. Once you read this, you have the background to Cade. I love the stories Mason comes up with! And the music at the end of some chapters, very good.

They are both incredible!

What does Gary Murrell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I've read the story and loved it. I think the narrator to a good job of making the characters come to life.

When his dad threw him out of the house. I sobbed!

The Rise of the Phoenix: Society Series, Book 0, my first read from author Mason Sabre. I got this back in July hadn't got around to yet. 71-pages/1-hour 43-minutes. I was given the Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing. Gary Murrell's accented narration was the best part of this read, I'm not really into werewolves, but don't let that discourage you. I doubt I'll read more from this author due to the subject. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A well-written story from a good author
