About this listen

The Confession of the Laudable Fraternity of the Most Honorable Order of the Rosy Cross, written to all Europe

These enigmatic treatises caused a seismic shift in European culture, and massive speculation as to their origin and purpose. Even to this day, these unique esoteric tracts are essential listens for any student of the mysteries of life and spirit. Editor Jason Augustus Newcomb has thoroughly rendered the book more comprehendible for modern listeners, as well as added additional notes and commentary.

I wasn’t sure what to expect. Decent listen/read. Always fascinated with other’s points of view the world and religions.

First off, I'm very glad this is available as an audiobook. Finding recordings of primary source material is rare. As this is as close to source as it gets.

BUT... the reader uses soft non-rhotic R's that make him sound like Elmer Fudd or Monty Python's Pilate:

"I have a vewwy gweat fwend in Wome..."

It's more than just a little distracting.

Not for everybody.

While the narrator has a good voice, he frequently struggles with the letter R. Consequently, Europe becomes Euwope and Rosy is Wosy. Despite this, it’s a quick and helpful listen for those interested in orders like this one.

Best thing about is narrator’s lisp. Contains no substance. At times feels made up nonsense

Trash

Unless I don’t understand what a manifesto is this book was totally misleading. This, in my opinion, was a history of Rosicrucians and not a manifesto of the same. Very disappointing.
