About this listen

Attorney Scott Ellis is defending Lester Garrison, a 16-year-old accused of opening fire one Sunday afternoon on a gathering of high-school students. While fighting for Lester's freedom, Scott volunteers at Catawba High School and stumbles onto a tangible evil that is fueling a rage-filled hate to its breaking point. Scott quickly realizes the life and death nature of the escalating supernatural struggle, both at the school and in Lester's case. What he can't possibly imagine is the ultimate price of the sacrifice needed to restore peace and defeat this ravenous evil.©2002 Robert Whitlow (P)2002 Oasis Audio, LLC. Excellent story. Every Robert Whitlow book is well worth time spent listening to or reading.

As always, fantastic!

The story was good, not wonderful, like I have found this authors other works. But I think the narration detracted significantly.

I think it’s the narration…

I bought the Kindle version of this book on sale at Amazon and was offered the audio version at a discount which still came to more than a full credit cost me so I used a credit to buy it believing that for the price I would be getting the full book on audio. I started listening to the audio book and later stopped it. Then I decided that I would read the Kindle book along with the audio the next time I went to continue the story. While trying to find the matching spot in the book I noticed that large chunks of the written book had been omitted from the audio version and that it was an abridged book (this was not apparent on the Amazon site when it was offered along with the Kindle version). I listened to the rest of the audio and frequently noticed that it seemed to jump around that's because major characters in the print version were treated like minor characters in the audio version and necessary scenes needed to make the book coherent left out of the audio. It was like listening to Cinderella with no mention of a ball or a prince until the end and then hearing the narrator say "then Cinderella married the prince she meet at the ball" and you're going what prince? what ball? To bad because the original book was great and the narrator was excellent.
