Publisher's summary

The subject before the listener is one which is commonly overlooked by God's people. Yet we are definitely told by the Lord this word: "A salvation ready to be revealed in the last time...Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls" (1 Peter 1.5,9). As the end draws nearer and nearer, it is incumbent upon Christians to know what the salvation of the soul is.

In Part I of this volume, Watchman Nee presents to us the meaning, the means, and the manifestation of the soul's salvation: the meaning is self-denial, the means is the cross, and the manifestation is the kingdom. And in Part II he approaches the same subject still further but from a different perspective by showing the sphere of the believer's salvation, the secret of a victorious life, and the faith by which such life is lived.

This audiobook is offered as a companion volume to another work of Mr. Nee's, The Latent Power of the Soul, and serves as an answer to the problem discussed in that work of the inordinate power hidden deep within man's soul. Because this latest volume reveals to us God's positive way with our soul, it is hoped that the listener may gain from it a greater appreciation for the dimensions of God's salvation so graciously given to man.

love the lord thy god

so for my soul to be securely saved i need to love the lord more than i love my wife? thats a hard one, my wife is pretty great. i suppose arguably he made my wife so i should love him all the more for it, but by that logic i should love my mother-in-law more than my wife too, and that ain't happening...

A must read for Christians

Where does The Salvation of the Soul rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I thoroughly enjoyed the information gathered here, it was biblical sound, and very insightful. Easy to grasp of sometimes a weighty subject matter.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the scripture reference that I could actually read for myself, The excellent way it was revealed in layman’s terms.

Which character – as performed by Josh Miller – was your favorite?

It has to be the Lord Jesus Christ, In the saving of the souls of his people to walk in the abundant life. Man is a tripartite being as well; Spirit. Soul, and Body each area needs to be understood in its working as a spiritual being.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was moved by the finished works of the cross.

Any additional comments?

I would highly recommend this book to all believers who really want an in-depth understanding of who you really are in Christ Jesus, and how to function in your soul which is anchored in Christ.

I typically like Watchman Nee

I typically like Nee, but I couldn’t get past the first quarter of this book. There’s a lot of really confused eschatology, and soteriology. Can’t recommend this one.
