Couldn't listen to this book

What didn’t you like about Doc Savage’s performance?

The narration ruined the book for me. It seemed that it was a comic book or sports broadcast, not a novel. I stopped after 20 minutes. Listen to the sample before purchase.

Exhilarating listen

Would you consider the audio edition of The Santa Claus Killer to be better than the print version?

No, of course not, yet one could purchase this audible without reading the book first.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Santa Claus Killer?

The discovery of the hidden subway corridors.

Have you listened to any of Doc Savage’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to many audio books. This is the first for Doc Savage and will not be the last.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending.

Any additional comments?

In reality, I read the book first and loved it. I jumped at the chance to grab this audible. There is nothing more enjoyable, or in this case, horrific, than to close the eyes and allow the sense of hearing to paint the blank canvas of your imagination.

Doc Savage does not simply recite the book; he achieves characters emotion and identity by articulating applicable intonation within the dialogue while delivering a superb narrative for this wonderfully creative and exciting tale. Without use of background music or sound effects, he delivers an exciting story. I can't decide which of his voice manipulations amazes me the most: helicopter rotors, police sirens, or feline dialogue, or maybe, the maniacal laughter or singing of our killer.

Mr. Savage delivers an excellent rendition of R. J. Smith's The Santa Clause Killer and I am excited to add this audible as a companion to the book sitting on my bookshelf.

Slay ride!

Where does The Santa Claus Killer rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among the best stories to which I've listened.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Stefan and Mirabelle.
Stefan, while being a tough street kid also shows vulnerability, sensativity and desire to be wanted and loved.
Mirabelle for her unyielding caring and desire to take Stefan away from the streets and bring him permanently into the lives of Terry and her.

Have you listened to any of Doc Savage’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Doc Savage rocks. He captures the essense of each character and brings it alive.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes. The very ending when Mirabelle killed Richard and told Stefan how much she cared for him.
