Critic reviews

"A vivid, amusing and immensely enjoyable read [...] a triumph." (Alexander McCall Smith)

I fell in love with the first book (Recipes for Love and Murder), and had high expectations of the second one. And somehow those expectations failed to come through. Although I do feel for the characters and understand the issues in question, but it was too much introspection and therapy, too many people, but (like seriously) too little detective.

Expectedly (?) disappointed

After loving the first Tannie Maria book, I found this one disappointing. The plot line was weak and it lacked fluency. The characters not nearly as colourful as in the first book.
