After holding off the New Watchers at the tomb of a fallen angel, Rafe and Alec are back with a new adventure. The Praesidium has gotten a tip that the New Watchers are on the hunt for the legendary ring of King Solomon.
Traveling the globe on a continent-spanning adventure, Alec, Clemy, and Enoch the misanthropic computer have to unravel the mysteries of conflicting information. But as Alec and Rafe grapple with the gun-toting New Watcher armies, they find themselves tested in other ways. Rafe still hasn't told Alec everything - and Alec is about to learn just how far secrets can go.

I looked forward to this book but I can’t help that it’s disappointing in a way. This is book two and nothing has been explained like the mystery and secrets (from book one) keep piling up not a hint/glimpse of a solution surfacing.
I expected to have some answers I know not all should be given (like who would I be to expect that) but it’s a promise that was placed telling just ooh I’m not human is violating that, you’ll know soon enough, or “you two shall be punished” is not cutting it as I’m well aware he’s an angle (Malak) probably Raphael if I’m guessing. I liked the story but those lines keep popping up making me upset and irritated.
The fact that everybody knows something and they refuse and/or got distracted on telling poor Alec is more then frustrating to continue.
I probably like the book too damn much that it’s rattling my nerves.
If you like a long suspense on secrets and mystery this book would definitely be something you should check out no doubt about it
Well, I liked it enough
