Housekeeper Accepts Surprise Proposal Gets Mystery

With echos of JANE EYRE, Luis Ammerman's THE SECRET BEHUND SYCAMORE HILL is a romantic Regency mystery about Ophelia Harlow who becomes embroiled in the mysterious life of Charles Witherford to flee her post as a housekeeper for a miserly master. Narration us well performed, but a British accent would have been a better fit to story.

Deep story!

While the gothic elements might steal the show for some, the historical setting and details add another layer of depth to the story. Fans of historical fiction will appreciate the authentic atmosphere and well-researched details.

Worth listening.

What an amazing audiobook with soothing narration! The beginning of "Wagons of Destiny" felt a bit slow, taking some time to establish the characters and setting. However, once the story got rolling, I was hooked.

Predictable Romance.

While the main love story is heartwarming, some listeners might find it predictable. However, the focus on the gothic mystery and secrets of Sycamore Hills keeps the story engaging throughout. (Image of a couple holding hands, but with a dark shadow looming behind them)

Gripping

I enjoyed this gripping suspense story set in the Victorian era. An intelligent, educated young and beautiful housekeeper, Ophelia is swept away by her employer's cousin. The love at first sight was not as it seemed when Ophelia arrived at her new home. Her new husband, Charles started acting strange. Ophelia's nightmare now began.
Eric A. Grimes narrated this book extremely well keeping me captivated until the end.

A Performance to Remember.

The narrator's voice is simply captivating. They seamlessly switch between characters, conveying their emotions and personalities with remarkable skill. Their performance elevates the story, making it even more engaging and atmospheric. (Image of a person wearing headphones, looking focused and immersed in the audio)
