Publisher's summary

In this steamy third book in New York Times bestselling author Ruth Cardello’s Corisi Billionaires series, a trip to Italy could jump-start a lasting relationship - but only if all that’s hidden comes to light.

When Christof meets a beautiful mechanic on the side of the road, he knows they’re meant to be. His family, however, needs him and his mediation skills in Italy, where decades of secrets and betrayal could cost them everything. His mother is convinced a fiancée would help smooth things over. But he’d be nuts to ask a woman he just met to participate in such a farce.

Men always find something about McKenna they want to change - her independence, her success, the grease that clings to her after a satisfying day in the garage. So when she starts falling for a handsome billionaire, she doesn’t believe it will last. Their engagement is fake, but the sparks that fly when they’re together are too real to resist.

If Christof and McKenna trust themselves and each other, Italy will jump-start a love as intimate as it is intense. If not...their relationship isn’t the only one on the line.

Execellent

I was very impressed with how much these books are like listen things in my past, and are so much like my big crazy family. Ruth does an amazing job of making it flow so beautifully. I would recommend these and her to many people.

Wonderful Story

This book is layers on layers of family history and discovery. I really enjoyed it. I was confused at first, when the story jumped to a different set of people. It was sorted out well and had a happy ending.

Answers, finally!

This was a fun little series to get through, but I think it may be a spin off of a prior series that I wasn't familiar with, so it was a little frustrating when the storyline seemed to veer in that direction. So glad the overall storyline was finally brought to a conclusion!

Awesome story!

I was a little confused at first. This is the third book in the series and the first one I started with but I was able to catch on soon enough. Ruth Cardello weaves a story full of family love that withstands the hardships that happens in life. Teddy Hamilton and Lidia Dornet bring the story to life. I am now compelled to listen to all of her books.

The Secret One

This one is the third in this series and it was great! Christof and McKenna first met at a bar as a random meeting when Chris was almost too drunk to remember her but they both made quite the impression on each other. He didn't remember much of that night except Mac was the love of his life and he named his car after her. For her, he helped her realize she did have dreams and just needed a plan to fulfill them. Years later it was a chance meeting when he was broken down on the side of the road and she stops to see if he needed help and, at first, they didn't recognize each other but were sure there was something about each other. A phone date later and especially after talking with his dad, Christof remembered who she was. When a scheme is put in place for him to have to travel to Italy for the family and needs a fiance to accompany him, he asks McKenna to join him. A ring, a fake engagement, and lots of family wine and with Nonna and her wooden spoon who could not fall in love! This is one big family with so many secrets but Christof has a calming way about him and he is just the man to set things on the way to being resolved. Will things work out for his love life too?

The Secret One

I have always loved Ruth Cardello's books. The Secret One is one of my favorites. Christof is my favorite brother. I think he is the one to keep the family sain. Ava is the sweetest child, so far. I love all of the characters in this book and Judy is still on her quest. I loved her last question to her father!

Confused plot

This was my first to listen from this author and this series. I was confused with the back story since I didn’t listen to the other one. I did enjoy the performance and the way they read. If you decide to give this a try, you may want to listen to the first book first.

The secret one

I love this series! Always loved Dominic and Abby but this book was so well written. The plot was detailed and connected all the dots. It was filled with lessons for life. It was a beautiful love story and it was a beautiful story of greater love than romantic love... long lasting love of family, friends, and faith. Thank you for this beautiful story. I love it that you have kept the story going. I hope you take us down another storyline!

GOOD but could have GREAT

This story is great as all the books I have read by Ms. Cardello have been. But the audio was a little disappointing. The Romano family of this series are immigrants from Italy to America when the children were young. The line "Learning English as a new language drew us even closer as a family.", or "Gian was an infant when we immigrated", are huge clues that the family as a whole would have an Italian accent ranging from slight (for the children having grown up learning it in school) to very strong (for the parents). The actors reading this book do not (or can not) give the character's the accents. The Male reader gives the father more of a New York/Brooklyn accent even though the setting is New England/Caneticut and Italy. Also one minuet Camilla, Christof's mother has no accent when speaking with her son on the phone but has the accent at the High Tea when spwaking with Queen Dalinda (Weasterly). Very disappointing. So over all the reading was good... But could have GREAT.
