About this listen

What chance does a small-town girl have with a world-famous rock star?

Two years after his wife’s death, rock star Garrett Hayes hasn’t moved on. But he has moved out of L.A. Where better to escape his past than a small town in the northern California mountains? If only he could get the townsfolk of Wildwood to leave him the hell alone.

Ani Bennet returned to her hometown for some much-needed serenity. The last thing she needs is a grumpy, too hot for his own good, rich and famous rock star living next door—and rent-free in her brain.

She set her fangirl tendencies aside and deleted his photo from her cell when they became neighbors. But when Garrett asks for help, she can’t say no. The problem is, spending time together is making those fangirl feelings resurface—and bringing them to a whole new level.

What chance does a small-town girl have with world-famous rock star? It’s time for Ani to set her fears aside and find out.

Fantastic Story

I've read and listened to many books by Kylie Scott in the past but I think this one might be my favorite. The narrator was perfect for this book. Enjoyable story from beginning to end.

I really hope this becomes a series because there is so many possibilities with the rest of the band members. I'll definitely keep an eye out.

Applause applause 👏

Another Rockstar romance. Kylie has a way of bringing out the real people in the band. Was hoping to meet up with the bands. Sweet slow burn. Andi Arndt was as perfect as she always has been.
Do I suspect another book?

I love Kylie Scott

Her story lines and her sense of humor are better than any other Romance writer. She keeps things lively, moving and funny at the same time. Andy Arnt I has the perfect delivery for Kylie’s writing. She has not put out a book for some time until this one and I have missed them. I was thrilled to see this new one come up on her list. Thanks Kylie!

4.5 Stars - Sweet Widower Romance

This was a sweet widower-rockstar romance. I liked Ani and Garrett together, theirs was an easy romance - not a lot of angst, just blossomed quickly and sweetly. This story was a great listen. Andi Arndt always delivers. I have listened to a few Kylie Scott books and enjoyed them all so far.

Cute short book

I love everything Kylie Scott does. This book was a feel good shorter HEA story. Good classic Kylie Scott humor and always solid narration from Andi Arndt.

So perfectly sweet—But at break-neck speed!

I absolutely love Kylie Scott’s no-nonsense writing style. There’s not a crap-ton of the ridiculous “destiny & fate” mess, repetitive internal (“I’m so broken I don’t know what to do so I’m going to overreact like a total moron and then repeat the justifying diatribe in my mind for 3 chapters tormenting my sweet-as-love man as he wallows in self-loathing) monologues, or long, drawn out and overdone friction. Instead, the books are so well-written. The characters have a lot of realistic and meaningful monologues and meaningful actions, which move the story along perfectly. The slow-burn is done so perfectly, too. Of course, Andi Arndt is unlike any other. She truly makes a story so much more! Her talented, quality narration is such a wonderful companion to Kylie Scott’s characters. I did give this one only 4 stars because, for some odd reason I can’t quite pinpoint, it seemed to end abruptly. Perhaps that’s because it’s was a beautiful, straightforward story of healing and beautiful, sweet, passionate romance, and that’s so infrequently done in the modern genre that it took me aback a bit. There were no loose ends, so I can’t decide why it felt abrupt. Perhaps I was just enjoying it so much that it seemed rushed, but I can’t identify anything I would have preferred Scott had done differently except perhaps drawn out the HEA just a tiny bit more. However, I absolutely loved it!

A Kylie Scott joyride

I am a Stage Dive fan. And an Andi Arndt fan.
Combined these two, of course you can have my money.
But the thing is, in my own personal experience, what this one is missing is a goosebumps moment. The emotions and hurts I felt in Stage Dive series or Pause or Fake is missing. Overall it’s a smooth fun ride that you can enjoy.

How love can sneak up you

The thing I like about Kylie Scott is her love is not rushed, she lets her characters get there naturally. This book made me laugh and cry because both characters come with their own baggage, but they get each each other. We had the privilege to see them fly again, it is true that we all have another half and when brought together the fire works begin. Thank you Kylie for bringing joy into my life.

Sincerely
PAT
