About this listen

From the author of the breakthrough book on team management and performance Leader Board: The DNA of High Performance Teams comes a call to action for leaders to transform in the face of a global employee engagement crisis.

Narrated by the author!

Leadership today is outmoded and ill-suited to activate and engage the most diverse workforce in history. This is why leaders capable of inspiring, engaging, aligning, coaching, and coaxing out individual and team brilliance are more in need than ever before.

Hence the reason for this manifesto.

Paradoxically, the answer does not lie in systems but in humanity. The more technology pervades our lives, the greater our need for clarity, courage, caring, culture, and talent cultivation - all things that machines cannot create for us.

We cannot wait for C-suite executives to respond appropriately to this crisis of employee engagement. We - the managers responsible for the people who create value for our companies - must do this for ourselves, and our people.

This is our manifesto!

IT'S A KEEPER!!!!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this mind & heart altering book. This is definitely a book I will keep in my library and refer back to it often. I will also be passing this along to my co-labourers of the gospel, business partners and colleagues, family members, mentees and my employees. It's a GREAT BOOK!

Very little original thought and a very biased viewpoint

The author references many amazing authors but adds little original viewpoints. Well except for very liberal sided complaints over completely unrelated issues such gun control, climate change, and whose is in the presidential office. No real solutions, just complaints and a biased view of what is causing the problem. Servant Leadership is an amazing pursuit, but short of reading those he recommends, this book is simply an empty and biased call to action. Would love to see him work together with someone with opposing political views to come up with real solutions over intentional alienating and insulting over half of the reader base. Servant Leadership IS about leading with heart- but I’m wondering if too much lack of love for those unlike him block him from truly getting that. A leader who only treats those well who share his political viewpoints. He scolds drug manufacturers, scolds those who make devices to defend themselves, scolds capitalism! I truly hope one day Omar gets that servant leadership is for everyone. It’s not a political issue.

Not great audio, weak content

The audio was not as polished as other audio books I listen to. Sometimes he would talk fast, or his voice would trail and it was hard to understand. The book is okay, but there aren't original ideas about Servant Leadership, instead he cites other authors work on Servant Leadership. It sounded like it was a thesis paper.
