About this listen

The portal is open, and war demons pour into the world of Dezrel, with every intention of burning the land to ash.

Harruq Tun leads the survivors of the broken kingdom of Neldar, hoping to find safety in the west. But it will take the aid of his wife and friends to hold back the army of his brother, Qurrah, that gives chase.

The dark god Karak nears his total victory and release, and the fate of the world will be decided by Harruq's strength as the vile army of demons, priests, and undead nears.

2 half orc brothers face destiny, betrayal, gods, avatars, each other, their loved ones and more. The tale twists and turns through choices right and wrong. Love and forgiveness or hatred and bitterness. Both are chosen are either right for the one who chose. War takes the land and remakes it in fire and blood. A dying goddess rents the fabric of reality to provide balance. And a brother faces a brother. Great series. Highly recommend. Overall, an intriguing read.

C.J. McAllister did well with the narration.

After reading all the books in dance of cloaks, and finishing this book, I can say probably my favorite in both series. It upsets me the voice actor keeps changing, but didn't realize it by the end

So much action

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. When I had the opportunity to listen to this book, I stopped the book I was playing and started it right away. The characters and the plot are continually changing, adding to the suspense of the story. It is worth listening too. This series will be added to my favourites list.

Well, we return to the half orcs world once again. The adventure ramps up, and our protagonist find themselves in more danger than ever.

The world building and characterization continue to improve as we go on. My only issues at this point become how many levels will we get before we have a definitive ending. I really hate drawn out series that run for 10 or 12 books and Peter out at the end just like the cradle series, by Will Wight.
I just get a little bit worried when something goes beyond for five books.

Once again, the narration is very good. I enjoyed it immensely and I do look forward to the next novel in this series.

This is the 4th book of a really fun and entertaining series. I have really enjoyed every book so far. The narrator is great and the story just picks up where the last one left off, which I really like in a fantasy series. I will definitely look out for the next book in the series.

Another great entry in this series

This story was fast paced and switched character perspectives quite a bit. It was confusing which side and which characters the story was following. This probably would have been less confusing reading the book versus listening to the audio version. The half orc and his mate on each side sounded similar to their counterparts, which added to the confusions.

Good story and good performance
