About this listen

A dozen years of peace have passed in the city of White Gryphon - providing well-deserved and much-needed security for the people who had lost their homes in the magical Cataclysm which killed the Mage Urtho, creator of the gryphons. But the inhabitants of White Gryphon have not forgotten their long struggles, and have trained an elite guard force, the Silver Gryphons, to protect their city, and if necessary, to join with the army of the Black Kings for mutual defense.

Loved it. Probably my favorite of the three.

Loved this one. Fun adventure with the new generation. adventure stories are my favorite, so that's probably why I like this one the best of the trilogy.

Lightweight but Entertaining

A bit lightweight, but a better story than the previous book in this series. The characters are well-drawn and the plot is engaging enough.

Great Adventure

The (early decades) next generation of defenders adds new dimensions to this epic world. Fantastic tale and fascinating ingenuity for their survival. This is also a feel good bonding between warrior children and parents.

Tadreth's story

Tad is Skan's soon and tired of being the Black Gryphon's son. He and Blade are sent out on their first solo mission. A wonderful story and it also has Skan and Amberdrake. Great narration.

I have read this book many times, I loved the narrator!!

It’s not the best Mercedes Lackey book in my opinion but I still love it and the narrator of the 3 gryphon books did a great job!

Good voice acting

One of the best Audiobooks I’ve run across, the person reading was engaging and well spoken, with a clear voice and good pacing.

Just one minor question...

This book, like the rest in this series was excellent. I’ve loved Misty’s work for years, and her “gryphon” series is among her best. In fact, I could wish for more stories from that time in her Velgarth books. But that’s neither here nor there. I just have one question for Audible, or whoever makes these decisions:

Who the heck is the dude on the cover supposed to be? I think someone missed a memo somewhere, or didn’t actually listen to the book, because Silverblade, the human lead, is most certainly female! No offense to the model or anything, but he’s not passing for a young woman anytime soon with that beard! 😆

All in all, fantastic book, great performance by a fine narrator, but seriously, fix the cover art. Thanks!
