Story
About 2400 years ago, the Greek philosopher Aristotle wrote one of the most important pieces of logic. Within his treatise rhetorical, he showed that the claims are more persuasive when articulated within three distinct but inseparable dimensions: ethos (credibility), logos (reason,) and pathos (emotion). Over the subsequent 125 years, attitudes have generated considerable interest in social sciences because of the widespread perception that they have a strong influence on actions, decisions, and judgments.

Loving Life demonstrates that morality is not a matter of divine revelation nor social convention nor personal opinion but a matter of the factual requirements of human life and personal happiness. Biddle shows how a true morality is derived logically from observable facts, what in essence such a morality demands, and why it is a matter of pure self-interest.

But there is more to learn. There is more to explore and discover. So here is my suggestion, Einstein: I believe your brain has great potential, but only if you use it. My invitation is to use it by listening to this book. And I would be crazy if I wouldn’t reveal some of the specific topics you will be faced with.

What is needed now is for humanity to agree on the most important topic in human history. We could produce spectacular results if we did so, changing life on Earth for the better - forever. And this is not out of our reach. We could bring an end to anger, violence, disagreements between people and nations, financial hardships, poverty, starvation, and the suffering of millions. We could bring peace, prosperity, security, opportunity, and joy to people around the world. In short, all that humanity has ever hoped for or dreamt of and what we were truly meant to experience could be ours.

Contrary to popular opinion, leadership is not meant for an elite group of people who, by fate or accident, become leaders while everyone else is consigned to being a lifelong follower. While every person possesses the potential of leadership, many do not understand how to cultivate the leadership nature and how to apply it to their lives. In The Spirit of Leadership, Dr. Munroe defines the unique attitudes that all effective leaders exhibit, explains how to eliminate hindrances to your leadership abilities, and helps you to fulfill your particular calling in life.

What just happened?!
With such broad generalization found throughout this book, even the insightful points sprinkled here and there lose validity. With inferred, and often blatant disdain for what these authors termed destructive people/non-producers, this book felt more like the mad ramblings of a secular cult. Anyone who claims all people of wealth (producers) as moral and do nothing but good and all non-producers as bad and lazy, is either trying to mislead others into believing this non-sense or is insane. In keeping with the writers' sentiment, my opinion here is broad and general and does not completely capture the entirety of the story and is based on persuasion...Much like this book. I understand the title better... I NOW have a splinter in my mind.

Finally, A Book That Explains a Happy Life
As the author, I have not heard any specific criticisms of this book... only generalized nonsense. This book identifies the problem with this world and the lives of people who suffer from a lack of meaning, purpose and fulfillment in areas such as love, happiness and prosperity. Only the non-productive losers who have positions are bitter when they hear the remedies put forth by this book.
