About this listen

Within hours of the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995, the FBI had evidence pointing to Iraqi and Islamic extremists. But incredibly, federal authorities quickly squelched all investigations implicating Middle Eastern suspects. In this electrifying new book, award-winning investigative reporter Jayna Davis shares a gripping and intensely personal account of her arrival on the scene thirteen minutes after the blast, the worldwide search for suspects, and the abrupt and unexplained abandonment of the manhunt for John Doe #2. Did he even exist? Eyewitnesses assured Davis that he did identifying him down to the distinctive tattoo on his arm, and his Middle Eastern connections led directly to Saddam Hussein's elite fighting forces, the Republic Guard. Stonewalled by officials, Davis followed her own leads into an activated terrorist cell on U.S. soil, high-level intelligence sources, and classified government leaks. What she uncovered rivals the plot of any spy novel, and is the shocking truth every American has the right to know.©2004 Jayna Davis (P)2004 Books in Motion Freedom & Security Media Studies State & Local Terrorism United States Espionage War

Why Doesn't The Government Want To See The Truth?

I was late to the party in finally reading this, but Jayna Davis exposed another government cover-up. It all fits with the lies and cover ups the government has constantly fed us dating back to the the truths about the Tonkin Gulf Affair, TWA 800, Ruby Ridge, WACO, The Russian Hoax and probably even the Kennedy Assassination. Your government LIES to you. That is the major truth exposed in this excellent book.

An unconvincing rabble of an argument

Would you try another book from Jayna Davis and/or Jerry Sciarrio?

No - if you have even a passing knowledge of terrorism and investigative procedures you will be picking holes in this book the whole way through to the completely fanciful final hour of this book.

Davis has taken a few sketchy descriptions and gone about trying to confirm the case rather than looking at the whole case - a wonderful study in confirmation bias. She spends a long time on very tenuous links but no time looking at the case the prosecution put up.

Don't waste your time - go read Marc Sagemen and get a good feel for what drives home grown terrorism.

Has The Third Terrorist turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I will just avoid conspiracy books

Have you listened to any of Jerry Sciarrio’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

First read by Jerry for me - a serviceable performance

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I kept going thinking there must be more but it all built up to a truly farcical conclusion

Any additional comments?

If you like Glenn Beck and Infowars you will probably love this

Bored me to death

What disappointed you about The Third Terrorist?

Chiefly, the narrator. The way he changed voices just drove me nuts. The writing was at best; average.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jayna Davis again?

NO!

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None that I could see, did not finish it - just bored me.

Any additional comments?

Thought this would be a compelling book, based on what I had read about it. It was not. I still believe that there is more to this story, but I did not have the patience to go all the way through this title to learn more.

...just got to say it.

This book is horribly written. Someone needs to take Mrs Davis' thesaurus away from her. Sometimes a car backfiring is just a car backfiring not "a miraculous cacophony of a thousand thunderclaps culminating in the blah, blah, blah. I couldn't finish the book. The information is interesting, but could have been covered in half the pages, or it might have made a nice piece of fiction based on fact.
