Publisher's summary

Harry Hole returns in the 11th installment of the author's best-selling, electrifying crime fiction series - published in 48 languages, more than 30 million copies sold worldwide.

In Police - the last novel featuring Jo Nesbø's hard-bitten, maverick Oslo detective - a killer wreaking revenge on the police had Harry Hole fighting for the safety of the people closest to him. Now, in The Thirst, the story continues as Harry is inextricably drawn back into the Oslo police force. A serial murderer has begun targeting Tinder daters - a murderer whose MO reignites Harry's hunt for a nemesis of his past.

Critic reviews

"John Lee at his best is about as good as it gets in audiobook narration. Jo Nesbø in top form is a showstopper, and when they're together, perfectly in sync as here, you may need a Valium to get through the final chapters.... Bravo to both of them for this thrill ride." ( AudioFile)

Jo Nesbo delivers again!

Another really good Nordic Noir with our favorite happy warrrior, Harry Hole, Nesbo manages to recycle an old nemisis for more murder and mayhem. Read it, you'll like it!

John Lee & Jo Nesbø match made in heaven

Superb story and narration, as per usual. Harry's back with no signs of slowing down. With a series this long you'd sometimes expect a flop. Thankfully this isn't the case and Jo Nesbø continues to regin supreme. John Lees performance is top notch.

The best of Harry Hole

Develops slowly, tosses you around from suspect to suspect. At the end you see the twist coming but you don’t care, it’s beautifully built and there is a nice, fun, final surprise.

Not his best

Nesbo is getting predictable and repetitive. The crimes are getting even more gross which seems impossible but true. Still, I love his group of familiar characters.

Enjoyable but...

Not my favorite story, however still very enjoyable. It took ages to get used to the new author and how he pronounced Harry Hole and not Hooleh, missed that special touch.

Vampirist

Another good Harry Hole thriller. Jo Nesbo continues to keep me guessing, who the bad guy is, until very near the end of his latest book. I'm glad he decided to continue the Harry Hole series. This one involves a potential "vampirist."

trying to hard to be clever

can be a trap within itself and after a bit its tired and boring. the aha, gotcha moments killed the ending for me.

So happy to have my favorite characters back

Thank you Jo Nesbo. Each book with Harry is a thrilling and anxiety filled roller coaster. I'm always moving from what will happen next & not wanting to know.
