This story was a bit corny in places, but was fun to listen too. It does keep you on your toes wondering what's going to happen next. The reader was easy to listen to and I didn't get lost once.

Not deep

I don’t normally enjoy fantasy or folklore or even sci-fi genres, but was intrigued when I saw Abby Craden as the narrator & after reading the book description. I’m super glad I took a chance on it.

The plot, backstory, & character developments are all pretty unique & captivating, at least for a newbie to this type of fiction. It grabbed my attention literally from the very first sentences. And I was held in the thrall of the story’s evolution right until the very last sentence.

After listening for less than an hour, I went ahead & purchased the other 2 books in the series. The writing was so fantastic I was already sure the others would be worth the buying & was actually interested in knowing the full scope of Samantha’s journey. The author did an outstanding job at getting readers/listeners to invest in the main character & the dilemmas she faces.

Having Craden narrate was an absolutely excellent choice as well. I’m a fan of hers alone, which is the primary reason I was drawn to the book in the first place. As per usual, she did a superb job bringing both the storyline & all its characters to life.

Her ability to depict a wide variety of voices is always astounding to me—whether male, female, young, old, etc. But here she also demonstrated her remarkable acting skills when as far as applying the appropriate inflections at all the right moments, particularly the most suspenseful & dramatic points. I highly recommend checking out her other narration work, even if some books are not types you’d normally enjoy.

Perfect combo of author & narrator. This has become my new fave for sure. I already know I’ll give it multiple listens down the road.

Excited to hear to the rest of trilogy, great work ladies!!

Attention-grabbing start to finish!

Would you listen to The Thirteenth Sacrifice again? Why?

I'm not one to listen to books over and over again that I have already listened to unless they are short and one of my favorites. If a good amount of time had passed then, I would listen to this book again because it is very well-written.

What about Abby Craden’s performance did you like?

I think Abby did an excellent job of narrating the story! You felt like you were a fly on the wall watching everything happen. I mean she did a great job of making you feel like you were actually there. She displays emotion through her voice well and she does a good job separating characters by giving them different sounding voices.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was outraged at the end of the book by how Samantha was treated! I thought that she had really sacrificed herself throughout the book for the good of everyone and the least people could do was to show her the respect that she deserved!

Any additional comments?

This is a really good book to read. If you are into witches then you will love this book! It's about a girl named Samantha Ryan, who is a cop with a dark past. She lives in the Boston area around Salem. All of a sudden, girls start coming up murdered with what looks like sacrificial markings. It is up to Samantha to go undercover to stop the witches that are behind this before it is too late.

A Roller Coaster Ride of a Story!!

This isn't a horrible book, its just not very engaging

What three words best describe Abby Craden’s voice?

Her voice is a little flat in parts, so its hard to follow the story.

Did The Thirteenth Sacrifice inspire you to do anything?

Not buy the next book.

Rarely do I just not finish a book; however, this one is one of those rare books. The narrator was hideous, the story unbelievable and the dialog vapid. Don't waste your time or credit here...just move along.

One of the worst books EVER!
