About this listen
My first question was “Does God exist?” But, I would have other questions that followed if He existed. For example, if He existed, I needed to know which God was it or does it matter? If it was Jesus all along, I had some questions. I was a Catholic growing up, but I didn’t have answers to the "Problem of Evil". Was Jesus the savior that damns all my friends and the billions of non-believers to hell who don’t believe in him? Finally, if there was somehow an answer to this “Problem of Evil” and Jesus is the Christ, then how can I be sure I’ve joined the true church of Jesus Christ? I’ll give the answers I’ve found to all these questions in this book.
Table of Contents:
Addressing Criticisms of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Question 1 – Does God Exist? The Physics and Chemistry of the Universe, The Origin of Life, Life After Death, Question 2 – Is Jesus the Christ? The Prophesied Messiah, Who Is Jesus Christ? Jesus Compared to Other Religious Leaders, The Resurrection Story of Jesus, Minimal Gospel Facts, Publication Dates Of The Gospels, The Historical Accuracy of the Gospels, The Apostles Lacked A Motive To Lie, Early Christian Beliefs, Historically Documented Miracles, Circumstantial Evidence of the Gospels, Messianic Prophecies, Question 3 – Is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints The True Church of Jesus Christ? Scriptural Requirements of the True Church of Jesus Christ, Highly Improbable Assumptions About Joseph Smith, The First Vision, The Book of Mormon, An Historical Record, The Account of Enoch in The Book of Moses, The Book of Abraham, Temples and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Word of Wisdom, The Benefits Of Church Membership, A Resolution To The Problem Of Evil

Story
In a book that took eight years to research and write, leading Bible scholar Bart D. Ehrman explores how an apocalyptic prophet from the backwaters of rural Galilee crucified for crimes against the state came to be thought of as equal with the one God Almighty Creator of all things. Ehrman sketches Jesus's transformation from a human prophet to the Son of God exalted to divine status at his resurrection. Only when some of Jesus's followers had visions of him after his death - alive again - did anyone come to think that he, the prophet from Galilee, had become God.

Story
For some people “Pentecostal” is a new word. Although it has become much more common in recent years, its roots go back to an ancient Jewish feast and, more recently, to the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the earliest Christian believers. Because this initial outpouring of the Spirit took place on the Day of Pentecost, those who experience a similar infilling of the Spirit are known as Pentecostals. They look to the book of Acts as a guide for how to live out their Christian faith.

Story
In Reasons to Believe, Scott Hahn, a convert to Catholicism, explains the "how and why" of the Catholic faith - drawing from Scripture, his own struggles, and those of other converts, as well as from everyday life and even natural science. Hahn shows that reason and revelation, as well as nature and the supernatural, are not opposed to one another; rather, they offer complementary evidence that God exists. He is someone, and He has a personality, a personal style, that is discernable and knowable.

Through a careful evaluation of the New Testament (and other surviving sources, including the more recently discovered Gospels of Thomas and Peter), Ehrman proposes that Jesus can be best understood as an apocalyptic prophet.

World-renowned Jesus scholar Marcus J. Borg shows how we can live passionately as Christians in today's world by practicing the vital elements of Christian faith. For the millions of people who have turned away from many traditional beliefs about God, Jesus, and the Bible, but still long for a relevant, nourishing faith, Borg shows why the Christian life can remain a transforming relationship with God. Emphasizing the critical role of daily practice in living the Christian life, he explores how prayer, worship, Sabbath, pilgrimage, and more can be experienced as authentically life-giving practices.

Story
The Problem of God is written by a skeptic who became a Christian and then a pastor, all while exploring answers to the most difficult questions raised against Christianity. Mark grew up in an atheistic home, and after his father's death, began a skeptical search for truth through exploring science, philosophy, and history, asking the big questions of life, and eventually finding answers in Christianity. In a disarming, winsome, and persuasive way, The Problem of God responds to the top 10 questions people raise against God, and Christianity.

Story
Historians know virtually nothing about the two decades following the crucifixion of Jesus, when his followers regrouped and began to spread his message. During this time the man we know as the apostle Paul joined the movement and began to preach to the gentiles. Using the oldest Christian documents that we have - the letters of Paul - as well as other early Christian sources, historian and scholar James Tabor reconstructs the origins of Christianity.

Clear, concise, direct and to the point.
This guy has certainly done his research. To try to scientifically demonstrate that God exists is no small task, and the research and sources utilized in the compilation of this book is simply astounding. The way he frames this work will leave the reader with a feeling of, "huh, I guess it really is that simple." at the conclusion of the book. My only regret after having listened to the book was not having also purchased the hard copy, as I would certainly love to review his sources utilized, and perhaps dive even deeper into some of the referenced material. Overall, a short but poignant book which essentially proves that God exists, Jesus is the Christ, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's only true church.
