Publisher's summary
The goal of God’s Not Dead: Evidence for God in an Age of Uncertainty is straightforward: to help listeners develop "a faith that is real and credible - and strong enough to help others find faith in God." To that end, Rice Broocks outlines a roadmap that guides seekers to acknowledge the most basic truths of Christianity:
- There is overwhelming and exciting evidence for God’s existence.
- The God who exists is indeed the God of the Bible.
- God has revealed his nature through his Son, Jesus Christ.
Persuasive arguments crafted with tools borrowed from logic, science, and philosophy, as well as scripture, solidify the faith of the Christian listeners and provide starting points for discussions with skeptics. With clear, easy-to-follow explanations of key concepts and controversies, God’s Not Dead is apologetics for the 21st century, presented in layman’s terms. Listeners will be empowered not only to talk about their own faith with confidence but to lead others to a relationship with Jesus.

Story
Did Jesus really exist? Is there real historical evidence that demonstrates that He lived and actually said and did the things the Gospels record? Is there any validity to the speculative claims that the Jesus story was a myth borrowed from a variety of pagan cultures of the ancient world? In this follow-up to the book God's Not Dead (which inspired the movie), Man, Myth, Messiah looks at the evidence for the historical Jesus and exposes the notions of skeptics that Jesus was a contrived figure of ancient mythology.

Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity.

Many Christians believe we need to choose between fighting injustice and communicating the good news of Jesus Christ. But what if failing to speak the truth is ultimately the greatest injustice of all? If we truly believe the human heart is the source of injustice and the gospel is the only real solution, shouldn’t sharing the gospel’s transforming truth be our highest priority?

Story
To some, the concept of having faith in a higher power or a set of religious beliefs is nonsensical. Indeed, many view religion in general, and Christianity in particular, as unfounded and unreasonable. 6Norman Geisler and Frank Turek argue, however, that Christianity is not only more reasonable than all other belief systems, but is indeed more rational than unbelief itself. With conviction and clear thinking, Geisler and Turek guide listeners through some of the traditional, tested arguments for the existence of a creator God.

Science definitely gives faith a boost as new findings emerge about the complexity of our universe. Strobel re-examines the theories that once led him away from God. You'll encounter discoveries from cosmology, DNA research, and human consciousness that present evidence in The Case for a Creator.

It's okay to have questions. But you need answers you can trust. How can I know there is a God? How can I know the Bible is true? How can I know there is life after death? How can I know how to forgive someone who has hurt me? You’re not alone in wrestling with doubts and uncertainties: Every one of us - no matter our age - has questions about these real-life concerns. What’s more, many Christians can’t readily explain the reason for their hope, as 1 Peter 3:15 advises. In How Can I Know? Dr. Robert Jeffress tackles the seven most common and consequential of these questions and makes a compelling case for answers you can embrace with confidence.

Story
Moving from the Paleolithic age to the present, Karen Armstrong details the great lengths to which humankind has gone in order to experience a sacred reality that it called by many names, such as God, Brahman, Nirvana, Allah, or Dao. Focusing especially on Christianity but including Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Chinese spiritualities, Armstrong examines the diminished impulse toward religion in our own time, when a significant number of people either want nothing to do with God or question the efficacy of faith. Why has God become unbelievable?

Story
The spirit of our times can appear to be one of joyless urgency. As a culture we have become less interested in the exploration of the glorious mind, and more interested in creating and mastering technologies that will yield material well-being. But while cultural pessimism is always fashionable, there is still much to give us hope.

Story
For all the thousands of books that have been written about religion, few until this one have attempted to examine it scientifically: to ask why - and how - it has shaped so many lives so strongly. Is religion a product of blind evolutionary instinct or rational choice? Is it truly the best way to live a moral life? Ranging through biology, history, and psychology, Daniel C. Dennett charts religion’s evolution from “wild” folk belief to “domesticated” dogma.

Story
We are in the midst of a paradigm shift in the church. Not since the Reformation five centuries ago have so many Christians come together to ask whether the church is in sync with their deepest beliefs and commitments. These believers range from evangelicals to mainline Protestants to Catholics, and the person who best represents them is author and pastor Brian McLaren. In this much anticipated book, McLaren examines ten questions facing today's church - questions about how to articulate the faith itself, the nature of its authority, who God is....

Story
What are the arguments for and against religion and religious belief - all of them - right across the range of reasons and motives that people have for being religious, and do they stand up to scrutiny? Can there be a clear, full statement of these arguments that once and for all will show what is at stake in this debate? Equally important: what is the alternative to religion as a view of the world and a foundation for morality?

Not Bad for What it is
The book itself was not bad. If you are looking for a comprehensive apologetic for Christianity then you need to read Cold Case Christianity or The Evidence That Demands A Verdict because that is not what this book is supposed to be. This book is a down and dirty overview of the most compelling evidence for God and Christianity but does not get into the weeds of the evidence as do the afore mentioned books. Because of that it is much easier to understand than the other two and will give you a good foundation upon which to build. After you are familiar with the contents of this book, the more in depth apologetic works become much more clear. As for the narrator, it is always a boon to have the author do the actual narration, but this one comes off as an amateur. His tone is flat throughout most of the reading making it hard to focus on the material for long periods of time but there were no mistakes that I noticed either. Overall a good technical performance lacking a little on the artistic side only. I expect his second book will go further into the weeds of the evidence as it will be needed to answer questions that this book undoubtedly created and that his performance will improve as practice makes perfect.

This covers all the bases
Author covers scientific proof, philosophical proof and speaks concisely and to the point. Other books on apologetics seem to have been written for their colleagues and not the lay person but this one was reader friendly without being simplistic, challenging without being impossible. Love the narrator’s voice as well

So much proof of God in this book!
I am extremely impressed with how much proof of a God that this book has in it! And although it was full of facts, and very educational, it was very interesting as well. That is very important to me because in my case if a book is even just a little to boring, I tend to put off or stop reading it. Bottom line: Gods Not Dead all ways had a way of catching my attention and making me interested.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!
Personally I would recommend this book to anyone but even more so to those who struggle with their faith and/or don't believe there's a God at all. This is an awesome audiobook for those who believe in God but still have a lot of unanswered questions in their mind. And if you enjoy discussing theological history or principles with others this book will give you clear definitive answers to any question concerning the existence of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. I've gone through the Bible from beginning to end at least a half-dozen times and at first it was intimidating and at times difficult to understand however the more I studied the more God touched my heart making it easier to understand. If you have seen the movie God is Not Dead don't be confused and think that this is merely the movie in print because as good as the movie was this book goes into much more depth and I guarantee it will strengthen your faith and help you to understand the word of God, creation and how to build your own relationship with God. I look forward to reading many more reviews of this book. May God bless you all.
