not all narrators are the same

Classic Story, but narration ruins this. Hard to follow as the narrator just runs one sentence after another so quickly. Being fairly new to audible books, I've been lucky to pick some really good performances. This is not one of them. This comes across as if time was short and the story had to be read as quickly as possible, with no no infection or effort to make the story come alive or be interesting.

Anachronistic but good

The story is as classic. It exhibits some ideas which we now know to be wrong and even for the time had some very imperfect science. But for all that it is an interesting little story. The movies do not stock even close to the plot, so it is good to go to the source.

The reader is clear but has some amusing pronunciation issues for words he appears not to have met, like anemone. But that does not detract from the story.

A classic. definitely worth a go.

This story is a timeless classic. The recording is good, with few (if any) recording errors.
