About this listen

What to do when they say they’re Christian but don’t know Jesus

Whether it’s the Christmas and Easter Christians or the faithful church attenders whose hearts are cold toward the Lord, we’ve all encountered cultural Christians. They’d check the Christian box on a survey, they’re fine with church, but the truth is, they’re far from God. So how do we bring Jesus to this overlooked mission field?

An important and relevant read

This is a great book on an important topic- the cultural Christian and how to reach them. All bible believing Christians should read.

Me. Me. Me! That was me! I thought I was a Christian...

Because I was raised in a Christian home was baptized and went to church. I was an unsaved Christian. Now I am one of those who are guilty of bringing Jesus into conversations with family and friends and everything getting really awkward. I appreciate the clarity of the author and the respect and love he shows for those who think they are good with God but may be mistaken. Insightful questions at the end of each chapter; an accurate use of Scripture; super easy to listen to on audible. This is a must read for every professing believer.

The story of so many...

I absolutely love this book! I recommend this to any Christian that is trying to reach a person who claims to be a Christian when they are clearly not saved. The author offers some very practical tips on how to minister to what is probably the largest mission field in the United States. listening to this book you will realize just how watered down the Gospel of Jesus Christ has become in America. listening to some of the examples of cultural Christianity that the author gives actually made me quite angry because it is nothing more than a mockery of the true gospel and Jesus Christ. And I also have in the past reached out to many cultural Christians that gives a similar reaction as the author describes where they dig their heels in, insist that they are fine, and that you're just more religious than they are. as the author says, only through patient, loving, and compassionate ministering and witnessing to a cultural Christian will be effective. there really is no magic formula. it's simply a matter of sharing from the Bible what the Bible actually says about salvation and evidence of saving faith and modeling the gospel by your words, attitudes, and behavior. as this book stresses, we must come from a place of humility when witnessing the cultural Christians. this book will greatly increase your understanding of this dilemma of christless Christianity and help you to be more effective in your efforts to win "unsaved Christians" to Christ.

This book is exceptional at clarifying true believers!

This book lives up to its title. What a learning experience with so many clarifying illustrations of the different types of Cultural Christians there are today. I will be able to use this as a reference manual in talking with the Cultural Christians I come in contact on a daily basis. The narrator was easy to listen to and interesting. Thanks

Bible based truth

This is it, the straight truth about the Bible and the state of Christianity in the US today. If you aren't accepting of these principles in this book, then your argument is not with the author but with the Bible as all his points are clearly Biblically referenced. Challenge yourself to listen and consider.

certainly something to think about

took several sittings to go thru this book. although it is challenging and gives cause to self examination, it has some places that drag the point a little too long for my liking.

If you a Church Leader this is a must read.

I think that every person who is in a leadership position at a church, wether it’s a Sunday School Teacher or a Pastor should read this book. It is very eye opening on how we as leaders just assume because someone says or does the right things that they are a Christian. It is time that we The Church step up and make sure we are not falsely giving people Salvation when that don’t have it.

Amazing!

I think I have recommended this book to at least 25 people since I started it. I am a pastor in the south and this book hits the nail on the head for so many things that I see and am trying to combat.
