Her new husband is the stuff of nightmares....
Julia’s having a tough day. She’s learned that sacrificing virgins is still a thing in her homeland, and she is the virgin to be sacrificed. When alien conquerors capture her land, she’s immediately bound and delivered to the gruesome King of the Vandals. But this notorious alien is in for a rude awakening. He might think he’s getting a simpering princess to claim but Julia’s secret, outlawed magical powers can put an end to the mightiest of rulers.
Does Julia destroy her scary new husband and save her people from his wrath? Or, has the battle-beast’s passion and love charmed a witch into choosing him above all else?

A perfect example of this is when “the bad guy” spent a whole chapter explaining every evil thing they have ever done and all the reasons why. I hate this. I hate it when the villain explains themselves in a lengthy monologue. It’s lazy writing to me.
The narration was fine at first, but the longer I listened the less I liked it. I hated the fake British accent she did for all the aliens. And it was gross how when she said words with P’s it sounded like she had too much spit in her mouth and that she was spitting when popped her p’s.
If I can return this I will because it was a waste of a credit in my opinion.

Absolutely Loved It!

I like the plot of the story and everything it was just the world building was limited.
Aleric was charming, brash, and playful. He need all those things to not loose his mind on this backwards planet.
As for Julia she was clever but naive. She let so many people push her around I was happy when she got some backbone and fought back.
Narration was great! like all Lauren Sweet narrated books are.
