It is said that the practice of dream yoga deepens our awareness during all our experience: the dreams of the night; the dream-like experience of the day; and the bardo experiences after death. Indeed, the practice of dream yoga is a powerful tool of awakening, used for hundreds of years by the great masters of the Tibetan traditions. Unlike in the Western psychological approach to dreams, the ultimate goal of Tibetan dream yoga is the recognition of the nature of mind or enlightenment itself.

excellent
I would have paid two times the amount. My only critique is that he could have broken the book into two parts and charged more and go into some subjects deeper. Otherwise I listened to his book in my deepest depression yesterday and felt a kinship of mind that I didn't get from other books.

A Perspective Adjustment
What a nice and encouraging story. If he had given up on life,he had every reason to, where would he be now. Probably somewhere moping around blaming the man for his lot! I want that Buddha Smile!

Autobiographical, Informative, & Enriching
A fascinating exploration of the healing of mental-emotional illness, the cultivation of states of awareness through various means, meditative self-realization, and modern developments of ancient memory techniques.
Well written and self aware, this book is a must read for any lovers of cognitive science and the evolution of memory methodology. He is a wonderful Instructor and genuinely interested in the growth of his students. You should definitely take the time to follow his work online and connect with him via social media.
Clinically, other than meditation, I couldn’t recommend several of the methods of self-cultivation that seem to have been helpful to Dr Anthony. Do deeper research and find an in-person instructor if you decide to take his recommendations.
But, as he reminds us, the value an author brings is not always in their ideas, but in the discussion their ideas make possible.
Overall, I am very happy to have read this book, and intend to study the rest of his vast body of work!
After all, “memory is not something you have, it’s something you do!”
(Trigger Warning: for those made uncomfortable by stories of suicide ideation, drug use, or self-harm…Or academic torture.)

Practical and actionable on-the-spot exercises
It teaches all this through incredible story telling from author's own experiences. Fascinating book and very useful.
Practical and actionable on-the-spot exercises for your brain. Incredible holistic approach to mental well-being and good memory.
I use the memory techniques to study taxation and business law. Dr. Metivier really helped me to improve the learning speed and information retention.

This is a Significant Book
This is more than a nicely written, entertaining and informative book. It is those things. But, I walked away from this first listening of the book convinced that it is a significant work.
The Victorious Mind is part memoir, part presentation of a detailed and far reaching introduction to the Memory Palace method of memorizing information, and a thoughtful exploration of how to live our lives and use our minds in ways that contribute to the happiness and well-being of all of us. Dr. Metivier’s work is designed to draw in readers and listeners and invites us into engagement with information, and positive service to others with his techniques that include frequent use of memory palaces, meditation, and the things we all know we should do such as eating a healthy diet, exercise, and abstaining from alcohol, tobacco, and substance abuse.
I believe that now, during the international pandemic of the Coronavirus, is a good time to consider the practical wisdom of The Victorious Mind as we search for new ways to do things, including how we assist students, at all levels, to succeed despite in-person classes being closed everywhere. Admittedly, this book doesn’t provide THE answer to resolve our problems, but it does contain tools that I believe can help as we move forward.
I really enjoyed this compelling and thought provoking book. The author has succeeded in so many ways in the presentation of his ideas and providing concrete exercises and resources in different media for the reader/listener. He also does a great job as the voice talent in his performance as the narrator for the audiobook. In short, I recommend this book to just about everyone. This book has reach. As stated in the beginning of this review, I think this is a significant work.
