Publisher's summary

It is said that the practice of dream yoga deepens our awareness during all our experience: the dreams of the night; the dream-like experience of the day; and the bardo experiences after death. Indeed, the practice of dream yoga is a powerful tool of awakening, used for hundreds of years by the great masters of the Tibetan traditions.

Unlike in the Western psychological approach to dreams, the ultimate goal of Tibetan dream yoga is the recognition of the nature of mind or enlightenment itself. "If we cannot carry our practice into sleep," Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche states, "if we lose ourselves every night, what chance do we have to be aware when death comes? Look to your experience in dreams to know how you will fare in death. Look to your experience of sleep to discover whether or not you are truly awake."

About the author: Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche is a lama in the Bön tradition of Tibet. He is the founder and director of Ligmincha International, an organization dedicated to the study and practice of the teachings of the Bön tradition. He was born in Amritsar, India, after his parents fled the Chinese invasion of Tibet and received training from both Buddhist and Bön teachers, attaining the degree of Geshe, the highest academic degree of traditional Tibetan culture. He has been in the United States since 1991 and has taught widely in Europe, North and South America, and Asia.

Amazing

I found this book at the perfect time in my life. Concepts are explained thoroughly and with clarity. There are also lots of practical exercises as well. The narrator was fine, though a little monotone. I just bought myself a physical copy to get deeper into this practice.

Skipping

I’m not sure why they took it upon themselves as to shorten the book and skip around sounding like a scratched CD or damaged audio file. Good book was no need to shorten it

Most complete dream yoga manual out there

I’ve listen to some other dream yoga practice books. This one was the only one that details the full practice. I’ve listen to this book many times already and will listen to it again and again. It’s just beautiful.

I will listen again many times

This is a great opportunity to learn the Yoga of dreams and sleep. Tenzin Rinpoche opens up a precious teaching. If you have familiarity with Buddhism you will understand more but it is with for anyone. I had a very different idea of what would be the yoga of dreams and lucid dreaming and his approach is detailed and with examples. Very worth listening!!
