Publisher's summary

From the minds of multi-million selling suspense authors (Peretti & Dekker) comes House - an epic supernatural thriller that gives a new meaning to the phrase "haunted house." Two couples vacationing in Alabama are pursued by a maniac killer who lures them to a vacant house which won't let them leave. The "house" mirrors their own heart and souls and they must defeat the evil within.

So Dang Good

Frank Peretti is my favorite author and this book absolutely did NOT disappoint! It was gripping and intense in the best way from start to finish, with lots of twists and turns. I didn’t have a clue where the book would go, but it was simply fantastic. If you love Peretti, listen to this book! I’ve not read or listened to anything by Ted Dekker but I will now!

I liked "House"

I am a fan of all Frank Peretti books and liked this just as much. Very good book ... much to think about as the book ends!

one of my favorite books!

I absolutely love this story. They created such a fantastic world of light and dark in this house and the characters were just perfect.

Great book, eh narration

As the title says, the book is great, but the narration was a little meh.

Entertaining.

I found myself listening to some parts more than once to keep on track. Mysterious, thought-provoking, and odd.

Great book!

I enjoyed this book. I had to go back a few times to make certain that I caught everything that was going on. But I did enjoy it!

The Book Is Good But Narration Is Anything But

I read the Oath as a teenager and loved it. Was hoping to introduce my wife to it via audiobook but this was a major disappointment. Kevin King's performance makes everyone sound like passive aggressive teenagers. They are whiny and irritating. We are about an hour and half in and we have lists of who we hate the most to who is hated the least. Cannot relate to the way these characters are portrayed one bit. It's possible that the writing could be at least somewhat at fault here. But the narration doesn't make the characters sound like they are being introspective or struggling with their relationships. They sound like a teenage drama from Nickelodeon or Disney. The voices are lacking emotion, the pacing of dialogue is often too quick which makes it feel rushed and the inconsistency of character voices can make it hard to track. I recommended you pick up a physical copy and skip the audiobook sadly.
