About this listen

USA Today bestselling author Christi Caldwell pits a fiercely independent beauty against a devilish investigator.

Set apart by her ethereal beauty and fearless demeanor, Ophelia Killoran has always been a mystery to those around her - and a woman they underestimated. No one would guess that she spends her nights protecting the street urchins of St. Giles. Ophelia knows what horrors these children face. As a young girl, she faced those horrors herself, and she would have died…if not for the orphan boy who saved her life.

A notorious investigator, Connor Steele never expected to encounter Ophelia Killoran on his latest case. It has been years since he sacrificed himself for her. Now, she hires orphans from the street to work in her brother’s gaming hell. But where does she find the children…and what are her intentions?

Ophelia and Connor are at odds. After all, Connor now serves the nobility, and that is a class of people Ophelia knows firsthand not to trust. But if they can set aside their misgivings and work together, they may discover that their purposes - and their hearts - are perfectly aligned.

Love ❤️

This series is wonderful, I read Book 3 first and was so enthralled by Gertrude’s story that I went back to the beginning. So glad I did! Definitely looking forward to reading Broderick’s story…I know, it’s going to be sooo good 😊

Good Story / Great History

Another example of a woman doing what she needed to do to help others....like herself. Authors research seemed authentic and very interesting,

Keeps getting better

Another great story in Christi Caldwell’s Wicked Wallflowers series. What a wonderful, twisty ending. Highly recommended!

How do you explain true love from ‘The Vixen’

I’ve listened to nearly every book written by Christi Caldwell, I can’t wait for next years already! Her British (helps since I’m originally from England) romantic books, are amazing love stories from irregular opposites..which are always the kind of romance we only wish could happen in ones own life..

I actually listened to the ‘The Vixen’ last year! But have you ever watched a movie in one year then watched it again the next year—and found scenes like you never watched it before?! That’s what I realized with ‘The Vixen’...

I adored the story, the characters, Ophelia & Connor—classic! With certain pasts about them that I know you’ll find out when you read the book..

The anger of women seeing themselves & children abused in the streets of London by Nobility always upset me..but while you read/listen to that, a woman would give up her life so the ‘love of her life’ would be not be hated by certain groups of people.

‘The Vixen’ is a strong woman—are there any other kind—and a man who cares nothing about her past or his present.

And in the end..
“Our lives and our hearts are intertwined because you told me it was true...We are both free..there will be only you..I love you..”
They released the chains of their past and embraced their future.

Tissue please 😪..

All and any books by Christi Caldwell are extraordinarily perfect..but to make it even better— Tim Campbell, my fantastic & brilliant narrator, I always tell him..if he wasn’t reading them..I’d be lost.

5 stars ✨ forever..

So many twist and turns!

Lol at a point I felt stressed and overwhelmed. I couldn’t stop listening to this book! I had to find out what was next. I have to admit the beginning was a bit slow, but the author made it up after a few chapters. It was good!

It's impossible to not cry!

An amazing story of survival, forgiveness and love. You are taken through so many different emotions. Tim's performance is amazing as usual. You can hear each and every sentiment. If you do not cry at least once...I'd check for a pulse.

Moving Romance With Some False Notes

Although well written the 2nd in the Wicked Wallflowers series included too many instances where I found it difficult to suspend my disbelief sufficiently to fully lose myself to the story. Given the time period & the characters portrayed I believe a money hungary crime boss as evil & unfeeling as Mac Diggery would have sold the beautiful Ophelia into prostitution long before she reached her majority. Regardless, if you enjoy this genre Christi Caldwell is a good author & her books worth reading.

The Vixen

I enjoyed this story, but not as much as I enjoyed the first one in the series. I read both of them quickly and was never pulled out of either of them by stilted language. I strongly dislike when that happens, I get deeply engrossed when I read or listen or both. I will read the next book in the series.
