Publisher's summary

After years of estrangement, the lives of Zara Mahoney and her twin sister, Eve, are suddenly and completely intertwined again. Eve's troubled lifestyle causes the state to take custody of her two children and contact Zara and her husband, asking them to consider foster care. Newlywed Zara thought she'd finally been given a fresh start and feels wholly unprepared to care for a niece and nephew whose existence she wasn't even aware of.

Meanwhile, Eve may have a real chance to start over this time with the help of Tiff Bradley, who's dedicated to helping women everyone else has given up on after facing a heartbreaking tragedy in her own family.

Over the course of one summer, all three women's hearts and lives hang in the balance as Eve desperately works toward a new life.

Can they redefine their expectations of how life should be to find the hope they - and those they love - so desperately need?

Really good

I did love this book …. As a foster parent it seems a little all too right - it usually never ends so very well as it should be - even as a fiercely praying Christian over every child - sometimes there is just not a perfect ending where we are all so happy. It was a sweet book tho. Narrator did a great job but the voice she used for the male was kinda the same for every character even the other women but otherwise everyone was at least defined and I knew whose character was being read. Worth the credit :)

Held my interest throughout

For me, this book was real with a real life ending and a God centered storyline while not being sappy and unrealistic. Having dealt with addicted family members it blessed me to see ‘things work out’ in ways humans couldn’t have planned.

Drew me in

This is the first story I have read by this author but it won’t be the last! The story drew me in and I really felt I got to know the characters and sympathized with each one. There were difficulties and struggles for everyone involved and some things aren’t always neat and tidy in life. And that ring true here. But I felt the strength of faith in God and his grace through situations in the story. The audio version was very good but sometimes the narrator would almost whisper and that was not ideal in my opinion. I’m looking forward to more titles by this author!
