Publisher's summary

Cassie George is barely staying above water as she works to get her doctorate and raise her daughter. But she stubbornly keeps swimming to prove a few bad decisions haven’t ruined her forever. Plus, it’s all a great excuse to stay away from the small Oregon town she fled in shame years prior. But when she receives a call that the aunt who raised her has had a major health crisis, she knows it’s time to return.

Cassie is surprised to be more welcomed by the quirky seaside community than she expected, even if there’s still tension between her and her former classmate Nora Milford. But she still can’t help feeling unsettled and is mystified by a mysterious package that appears, full of typed pages that tell the story of an anonymous woman’s life. As her curiosity sends her on a journey toward truth, Cassie will discover that who she thought she was and what she wants for her life are both about to change.

great book

the only reason I didn't give a 5 star , I typically don't anyways, is I struggled at times to keep the characters straight. guess that made it even more suspenseful. haha
but this really was a wonderful story. easily pulled into the characters and felt part of this quaint town and the people in it. thank you

Peace

I love books that feed your heart, soul, and thirst for a great story. The community of Gulls Bay fulfilled all those needs with imperfect characters who were living imperfect lives. Shaped by the Waves was a poignant telling of a family’s story that came together in connections not made through blood or genetics, but through love, hope, support and choices made for the betterment of another’s life. This was beautifully written and beautifully read. It ended perfectly with this reader (listener)smiling, sighing, and feeling a peaceful contentment in the time given to listening.

I want to live in Gull’s Bay! What a beautiful story! Just what I needed in the current craziness of our world!

I want to step into this world!

Loved the setting, and long to be a part of a world where real people pay attention and sometimes struggle with who they are, who they might be, and the higher callings this world presents—except, of course for one very bad guy. Love the protagonist who is still trying to find, and grow into herself.
