WOUNDS OF THE HEART

When Ivy and Sora encounter a mortally wounded man, Sora uses its unique powers to heal him...and splits in two?! As Ivy and Druid bond over their unhappy pasts, Ivy learns that her new friend was also abandoned by his family thanks to his "useless" skill. But as Ivy knows, there's often more to people (and slimes) than meets the eye. Can Ivy and Sora help their new companion find the strength to forge ahead?

Awkward

I love this series but this volume felt super awkward. It felt like the chemistry between Druid and Ivy was forced and ALL of the conversations that Ivy had were really weird and awkward, as if neither party never understood each other. Frequently, people would have very odd responses to what Ivy said or did, and visa versa. I know that there is some nuance that is lost in translation, but the previous volumes were fine so I really think the writing was just poor. For a long time, I even thought that Druid was a mind reader since he was answering the stray thoughts that went through Ivy's mins, but apparently this isn't the case, it's just awkward writing. I hope the quality picks up in the next volume but this was still worth a listen. Oh, yes, let's not even talk about the whole "Japanese Isekai discovers rice" thing. That isn't the most original idea for sure.
