About this listen

Caterer and sleuth extraordinaire Goldy Schulz jumps from the frying pan into the fire as she tries to solve a puzzling murder that is much too close to home, in this latest entry in the New York Times best-selling series from "today's foremost practitioner of the culinary whodunit" (Entertainment Weekly).

Goldy Schulz knows her food is to die for, but she never expects one of her best friends to actually keel over when she's leaving a birthday party Goldy has catered. At first, everyone assumes that all the fun and excitement of the party, not to mention the rich fare, did her in. But what looks like a coronary turns out to be a generous serving of cold-blooded murder. And the clever culprit is just getting cooking. When a colleague - a woman who resembles Goldy - is stabbed, and Goldy is attacked outside her house, it becomes clear that the popular caterer is the main course on a killer menu. With time running out, Goldy must roll up her sleeves, sharpen her knives, and make a meal out of a devious murderer, before that killer can serve her up cold.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Whole Enchilada: A Novel of Suspense to be better than the print version?

I'd like to try the other Diane Mott Davidson books, but will stick with the print editions.

What did you like best about this story?

The food connection was interesting, and I enjoyed the way it was woven into the plot.

Would you be willing to try another one of Barbara Rosenblat’s performances?

I don't care for Barbara Rosenblat, but this is her worse performance by far. Doubt that I will listen to another one.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Only extreme reaction was to the narration. The book itself seemed quite good.

Any additional comments?

I've purchased many Audible books in the past, but was extremely disappointed in this one.

I was entertained but not riveted by the plot. Predictable but that suits me right now...no thinking

Enjoyable

I've listened to the whole series. I'm pretty picky. Love this series and the narrator brings life to the characters. I feel like I know them. AND it inspires me to get in the kitchen!! Hahahahhaha!!!

I love this narrator

I have been reading Diane Mott Davidson since she started writing the Goldy Bear Culinary Mysteries. When my family took road trips, YEARS AGO, we would order the books on tape of the series.
This book is yet another winner. I hope she writes a few more. I really do.

Another winner!

I loved the ending. Now, 10 years later; I would like a one book re-visit to these characters. Thank you very much!

Good ending

too redundant in restating action. The multiple plots made it a little confusing, but very interesting and entertaining. made me laugh and made me cry

great multiple plots/Too redundant

Glad that Goldy is back but the premise of her having so much involvement in a police investigation makes the whole story unrealistic for me. The story itself was entertaining and I was looking for entertainment. Love Barbara Rosenblat as the narrator.

So unrealistic yet entertaining
