Great book, not a great performance

The reader has a very odd way of speaking. He ends every sentence with an upswing so they all sound like questions.

Good but anoying reading style

This is a good story, but the reading style is annoying. The narator drops almost to a whisper at the end of each sentence and makes it nearly imposssible to hear him unless the volume is turned up loud, especially while in the car.

Awful Narration

A great classic! However, I find the narrator’s style sooooo annoying, it distracted from listening to the story. The narrator elongates the last word of (almost) every sentence. At times, the elongation implies an ominous foreshadowing that is incongruent to the sentence or story line. “Dorothy slept well … until …the … next … mooornnnniiiinnnng.” She just goes to sleep because she is tried. Nothing happens the next morning! Once in a while, an elongation is ok, but the entire book? I wish someone had reviewed this book before me, I would have purchased a different reading.
