The latest thriller from the New York Times best-selling author of Twelve Days, Alex Berenson.
John Wells has just barely managed to stop an operation designed to drive the United States and Iran into war, but the instigator himself disappeared behind an impenetrable wall of security. Now it's time for him to pay, and Wells has made it his personal mission. There are plenty of crosscurrents at work, though. The White House doesn't want anybody stirring the pot; his old CIA bosses have their own agendas; and other countries are starting to sniff around, sensing something unusual. It is when Russia and China enter the mix, however, that the whole affair is set to combust. With alarming speed, Wells is once again on his own...and the wolves are closing in.

Critic reviews
"Narrator George Guidall provides another outstanding listen in this tenth John Wells mystery. Guidall has perfect-pitch timing and pacing for this type of thriller. He imbues the characters with distinctive voices by adding powerful unwritten features such as a gravelly undertone or a tone of coarse indifference.... Guidall's extensive experience with the main character, John Wells, doesn't hurt either." (AudioFile)
“Exhilarating...when the call of duty summons, Wells rises to the occasion; his emotions may be mixed, but he still puts on a great show for readers.” (Publishers Weekly)
“[An] adrenaline-filled thriller.... Fans of the John Wells series won’t be disappointed. They’ll agree with his enemies that if Wells isn’t Superman, he’s super something.” (Kirkus Reviews)
“As always, Berenson brilliantly blends global politics into an adrenaline-pulsing spy novel. But, most of all, there is Wells, a stone-cold killer who nevertheless does what we all wish we could do: stand up to the powerful and make them pay.” (Booklist)

If you could sum up The Wolves in three words, what would they be?
The three words I would use to describe this book would be "Captivating", "Unexpected", and "Depressing". I am always depressed when I get to the last book of a series I have invested so much time with. What other book might you compare The Wolves to and why?
I actually stumbled across the JOHN WELLS series by Alex Berenson after having read the SIGMA FORCE series by James Rollins. I like the travel between different continents and the glimpses they provide into the various cultures that mainstream America may often have different opinions about. Additionally, anything that reeks of a government conspiracy theory has my full attention.Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to the entire JOHN WELLS series. I enjoyed each of his performances. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely would have wanted to listen to this book in one sitting. Just was not able to do so with my schedule.Any additional comments?
Since this was the 10th book in the series, I am hopeful that the author can continue to develop plausible story lines that don't seem forced and superficial. After books 9 and 10, I would love to read more about the other members of the trio who seem to have their own histories and experiences they bring to each book. What did "Vinny" and "Shafer" do prior to the time they spent with John Wells? Would really like to know?John Wells - Where do we go now?
