About this listen

In the future, everybody wears computer glasses that scan the world and project whatever you want to see right in front of it. Through perfected augmented reality, the buildings and people blend seamlessly into whatever movie or video game is running. We all see whatever we want, all the time. Nobody cares what clothes they wear, because the rest of the world sees them as pirates, robots, or anything that suits their current media. Even the cars are self-driving, because nobody wants to pause the streaming feed.

In other news, the world is under attack by aliens. Disease is decimating the human population. A man takes over America and declares himself to be a god.

Nobody cares, so long as they don’t turn off the wi-fi.

Jason Hunt has the perfect life. A scholarship university athlete with an amazing girlfriend, his future couldn’t be brighter. Then his father drops a few family secrets on him - secrets of treason and heresy, which put him in direct conflict with the reigning theocrat.

“Wymore weaves a fantastic tale while taking a good hard look at religion, politics, immortality, entertainment, and technological advancement. If you're looking for a thrilling sci-fi adventure that beautifully mirrors current real-world issues and advancements then this is the book for you.” (Andrew Buckley, author, Hair in All the Wrong Places)

Read This One

This is a great book. It is killed by terrible narration. It really is a great adventure/sci-fi story full of lots of great subjects. I read this book first and absolutely loved it. I was excited to hear it on audiobook but the narration took me out of the story. Please don't judge this book by the audio or morons who can't handle more than one topic at a time. Please read this one and you'll enjoy it for sure.

Theocracide

Hmmn....not what I pictured this was going to be like.Nerve jangling 'breaking news'like intros every chapter, whole sentences repeated at times and a very fast narrator. It just had me turned off.I think the book along with Mr Biovins narration is meant for a younger crowd. I understand the old crunchy dad guy,the cars on rails and police harrassment.I get the tech taking over. The rest just left for some confusion.Maybe if I'd have read it instead of listened to it. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

unfortunately

unfortunately I had a big problem with the narrator maybe I would have enjoyed the story but the narrative Reddit I don't even know how to explain not in the manner that I could of enjoyed the story was good I tried to listen to all the story and I managed it but I would probably enjoy more if I only read the book because the story is solid I think it's maybe even interesting but I can't tell for certain

not for me at all

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I was so disappointed in this book. I was really intrigued by the premise and wanted to like this one. I actually stopped listening to another book, just to listen to it. The heart of what ruined this for me was the narration. It is disjointed, sometimes repetative, and made for a boring listen. The story itself, was similarly disappointing. I never would have thought that a story with everything from aliens to immortals would be boring. Don't bother with this one, I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Worst Narration Ever!

Disclaimer: I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Performance: It was bad guys. Really, really bad. The production itself wasn't great: there were times where the narrator repeated a sentence multiple times, I could hear the breathing and swallowing of the narrator, at the beginning of each chapter there was a "news" bit where an anchorman basically gives the headline and during that there was this weird noise that made it hard to hear. The narrator was boring, had no differentiation between characters. Regardless of age or sex they all sounded the same.

Story: The story had aliens, immortal beings, government conspiracies, dystopian technology, clones, and I could go on and on. It was all just too much. The characters were boring, predictable, and lacked depth and development. There were logical inconsistencies throughout the book. And the plot fell flat. The climax was absolutely boring and it seemed as if the most fun parts were skipped over completely.

Overall: Bad, bad, bad. Zero out of five stars. Do not recommend at all.

I couldn’t stop listening to this book!

The story starts out in a high speed game and quickly turns into a high speed run for your life, except nobody runs.

The future of technology will cause us all to become dependent on the system. This book is incredible.

The performance was really good, the different characters came to life in this performance.

It was a great book, listen to it today.
