About this listen

Home. It is an elegant word, at once both simple and far-reaching. Home is a place to live in and feel comfortable, but it is much more than that. Home is where we are nurtured, where we live, and where we love. The language of home is universal. It is where we find the eternal in the everyday.

But the home has been neglected. To millions of women today, there is nothing worse than being a “homemaker”. If only they knew the supreme value (and reward) of giving loved ones a place to call home.

Authored by three wives and mothers, Theology of Home is a simple guide to help reorient all of us toward our true home, allowing us to think purposefully about how to make our own homes on Earth, better equipped to get all those living in them to the Father’s house.

Featuring more than 100 beautiful (and inspiring) photographs from homes around the country, profound words from the saints and other literary figures, and in-depth commentary on the theological and spiritual underpinnings of our love for home, Theology of Home offers listeners a tour of the both the home and the human heart.

Great Book

This is one of those books that the world sorely needs but is roundly rejecting. Very well written, very well thought through. I highly recommend this book, especially to young women, but also to young men to help them both recognize & appreciate the dignity & genius of woman.

Just okay

I wanted to love this book but it was just okay. It really didn’t give me any new insight….I did love the idea of chalking the door….that to me was the best part of the book.

Written Decently, Voiceover Not As Comforting

This was an awesome read. I am a protestant believer. As I was listening to the Catholic version of what it meant to be a homemaker, it was very comforting to hear historical accounts of the saints. I do wish there was more practicality in this book but nevertheless, it hit themes that are important.

Good sentiments but..

Good sentiments and could be thought provoking but the Stepford-wife-esque narrator made it unpalatable for me.

very disappointing

I thought, from the description, that this would be about expressing faith in home decor. It is really an elaborate metaphor, using the home to explain Roman Catholic theology. The narrator is pedantic. Very disappointing.
