About this listen

The zombie outbreak is affecting more than just the Evans Family. Book 2 dives into not just what is happening to Mike and his family but begins to fall further into the zombies on the block, or better said, those that are not yet zombies.

The heart-pounding action continues as does the humor and sarcasm. Who will survive? Who will perish? What obstacles will they need to overcome? Find out in Zombies on the Block: There Goes the Neighborhood.

Could be very good but 2 books and still on day 1

There is very good character development and interesting day 1 stories. But it's been 2 books and 8 hours of audio and we're still not past day 1 or even day 1/2. Good story stuck on chapter 1.

zombies!!!!

Zombies are everywhere!!!
This second book in the Zombies on the Block series was funny and fast paced. Going straight to book 3 need to find out what Mike and his crew are going to do.

Enjoyed first more than second, won’t read third

I found the story likable but it kept losing my attention. I’d have to stop and rewind so I could concentrate on what was being said by whom. There were too many different side stories going on that I assume would relate back to the original group but I could not for the life of me recall who all these different characters were.
The narrator’s repeating certain names and words was very distracting…I couldn’t continue but it was a decent read/listen.

All the unexpected deaths.

I'd dislike the fact that the story is too short and some of the deaths.

Meh

The narrator is doing quite a bit better than the first book, much more expressive. The author... 3 characters named Michael? Really? 3??? Seems like an insane amount of ego stroking to me.

I listen to a ton of zombie books, this one is a dime a dozen. I did buy the second book, but I wont pay for another one.

Great narrator

Tristan Morris's narration was impressive. Books 1 and 2 are okay, but I cannot get into the characters or their sense of humor. I am not going any further with this series.

Too much dialog

Although the thoughts and conversation may be entertaining, it’s way to much with all the crap going on. Story is ok but doesn’t survive through the overload. Seems like the writer is trying to hard to add levity to the characters and situations. Thought it would get better in this second of series, it doesn’t. Won’t continue this series.

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!!!!

The one GLARING flaw in this series is the authors repetitive use of a single word! The last 12 minutes of the book is about Marcia (hence the title of my review). In those 12 minutes, the author says Marcia AT LEAST 30 times!! The use of repetitive words is consistent throughout this book, but it became so annoying in this last chapter! There are so many other words the author could’ve used to describe different things, but it seems like he wasn’t trying.

Example: Jackie moved the desk. Jackie stood on the desk under the window. Jackie climbed on the desk to reach the outlet. Jackie then took the plug from the outlet. Once Jackie had the plug, Jackie then........ and on and on. Though this is not a true sentence in the story, this is how things are written. It’s giving “See Jane Run“ vibes. I will not be continuing with this series because of that.
